I'm not convinced using the money on Freeney would be ideal. I really like our ability to get after the QB this year.

Why do so many people think Denver will trade Tebow? Tebow needs 2 year to develop as a pocket passer. He might then be a dynamic run, pass threat. Learning from Manning can only help his game. The Broncos have no other backup QB. Tebow is cheap and would make a solid backup. He might even become a good QB after learning from one of the GOAT. Much like Rodgers did with Farve.

The only thing Tebow can learn from Manning is how to better shelter his raging Christianity.

Oh, and how to properly host SNL.

Because Tebow has historically bad completion % and you don't just develop that ability.

But more than anything DEN now has legitimate SB equity for a short window and we need to do what we can to maximize that equity. Keeping Tebow does not do that at all.

Who would Denver get as a better backup option? If Manning goes down there are not a lot of good option for backup on the open market.

I agree Tebow has a low completion rate. But he also threw a lot of balls OB instead of throwing into coverage and possibly an INT. I would keep Tebow as a backup. Denver does not want to end up like the Colts last year.

If Manning goes down ending like the Colts did last year would be so much better than having Tebow on the roster and needing to move forward with Tebow.

I'm a huge Broncos fan. I have been to many great games at the old "Mile High." I saw "the fumble". I saw the great Warren Moon/Elway playoff shoot out. I love this signing. It makes Denver a contender now and it doesn't mortgage the future. They didn't spend any draft picks. They are building for the present and the future.

What they need to do is have a young QB for the future learn behind Manning. I can't see them using a 1st round pick on a QB. They want to win now. This is why they should give Tebow a chance to learn from a great. If he doesn't improve. Dump him next year.

This is not a particularly probative activity given era-specific rules and other factors.

The better comparison is the other old elite QB: Brady.

what if they could get a 2nd round draft choice from jax or miami? Thatd be way better than paying tebow to sit on the bench.

Worst case scenario for NFL/TV contracts. No Eli/Peyton match ups, No return to indy, possibly no Tebow.

NFL should be fine without Tebow or Eli/Peyton match ups.

? Do you think Brady is currently 39 or something?

Also I'm not really sure what you mean.. Are guys immune to aging now? Go look at Marinos sack rate he got hit as rarely as Peyton. Elway had one of the best late runs and was a guy who took a lot of shots

Cool so we've confirmed Brady was elite at an age that Peyton is currently older than.

Weird to think Elway is no longer the best QB to ever wear a Broncos jersey.

Cool to have the GOAT.. even with the risk of regression/reinjury. Still kinda sinking in.
