One thing to remember when considering the chances of Manning going to Seattle is that Seattle, in the brief tenure of Schneider/Carroll, has been pretty happy to gamble on injured players, and all things considered, their track record when gambling on injured players isn't too bad. The list includes Leon Washington (hit), Walter Thurmond (solid contributer before reinjury), Sidney Rice (ditto), and Robert Gallery (ditto). We'll also see if they re-sign John Carlson, and they kept Deon Butler around even after suffering the same injury Leon Washington did. The front office there definitely doesn't mind taking a shot on a player with an injury history, and they've seldom signed players who've been ineffective even when "healthy" post-injury, even if they've assumed the reinjury risk when getting them. There's a decent chance that Seattle is more willing to spend heavily on Peyton compared to other teams that will shy away from the injury risk.

Reports are also out that Seattle is more than willing to bring in FAs that Manning wants (Wayne, maybe Saturday) and overhaul the offense to suit him.

We'll see what happens. Seattle also has their eyes on Super Mario, and they almost certainly can't sign both.

This. Would also like to see him on the Cardinals.

Any team + Manning (assuming he is healthy) is a playoff team.

Seattle doesn't play the NY Giants next year either. Hmmm. Seahawks def in the top 5.

Yeah, this was the other thing I was going to look up. Which of the "contenders" plays the Giants. This already diminishes the Skins chances.

love how nobody is talking about the Broncos. Gonna be funny when they start the season 2-6 and Tebow has a passer rating of 73.

73 is incredibly optimistic

you should pretend you meant 37

This is a very solid post.

I'm sorta rooting for Seattle to bring in Manning now, esp. since they would bring in his crew as well.

I want the best for Peyton, and will be rooting for him to win it all next season. Playing in Seattle would be a sick home field advantage, and I could see them usurping the Fraudy Niners to win the NFC West.

Is it silly to say Manning wouldn't want to play in a cold weather climate? Could the bitter cold bother his neck more than usual? If so wouldn't that take K.C., Denver and possibly Seattle out of the running?

Arizona has a pretty solid triple threat: dome, Larry Fitzgerald, super weak division.

Yeah, lucky for the Cards they don't play in the same division as a team that was really close to going to the Super Bowl.

will see. rams added fisher. 9ers aren't super awful and neither are the hawks. they aren't the weakest division anymore but obviously not elite either.

Very solid oline, (sacks were Moore's fault and Long being injured for part of the season), very solid WR core, Bess is excellent in the slot, Marshall if he isn't top 5 is definitely top 6 (maybe top 3 with Manning throwing to him). Fasano is ok and smart/ a good route runner, same with Hartline. Those are the types that thrive with Manning (good timing guys). D is young and getting better, nobody on the team is really over the hill, all getting better and still have a full draft to improve.
The homer in me is saying they are instant heavy superbowl favourites with Manning. All they are missing is a QB, get one of the game's best and boom!

Peyton to the Skins, one time

Two Eli clashes/year + other BEAST matchups + potential for Skins fan meltdowns = too good to pass up

Poor Jeff Fisher if Manning winds up in the NFC West. Stuck playing him twice a year during his Titans days now has to deal with him all over again.

Miami plays Indy in Indy this year. I think that would be another factor for him going there. It is a match made in heaven, Super Bowl favourites, team wasn't very good last year so not a ton of actual pressure when the media predicts them to go 10-6 or 11-5.
