maybe peyton wants to go to an afc east team to try and beat brady twice and take a division title over him, to cement his GOATness over brady

Mark Sanchez 2012
Cap hit playing for the Jets this season: $14,253,125
2012 cap savings by cutting him before 3/28 when roster bonus due: $11,996,875 ($2,256,250 dead money).
That's a pretty negligible cap hit. If they see another QB they like better it's not as if they're financially tied to Sanchez. There's $12m freed up right off the top. If they want to take a shot see who can be renegotiated and make a run this year and the next.
if they believe they can win now with manning, they should cut sanchez, free up the 12 mil (to have around 15mil free), and try to rework some contracts in order to get manning.
again, we have no idea what's going through mannings head. he might not want to play in the NE, or even outdoors.
