Somewhere up the chain they must view themselves as a university and not as a football team. The right move to protect the university is to eliminate football. They can look at bringing football back in 2025. (Which is as long as they've been covering up for the pedo.)

Seems this would be rather unfair to current players considering this is not an on-the-field-product issue and that no one playing now, or about to be playing in the next X number of years, knew anything about this. You'd be punishing players and fans for something that didn't have to do with any of them and didn't have anything to do with actual football play. Yes, Penn State institutionally sucks but it comes down to one depraved individual and a handful of higher ups who did the wrong thing in punishing aforementioned depraved actions. Student-athletes, potential student-athlete hopefuls, and fans shouldn't be deprived of the on the field product for this.

Their recruits for 5 years from now are 13 now. They'll have really short memories and PSU is more than well funded enough to uh... recruit.

All they need is a competent Head Coach and/or luckboxing into a super recruit.

The football program brought that university millions and millions of dollars. And its not like "the football program" is some mythical figure running around abusing boys. It was the people running it. Get different people running the program and there's no problem. Its not football's fault...football programs manage to not damage a lot of universities. It is people's fault.
