Got into a minor tiff with the campus preacher over him deluding himself into thinking that the Freeh report is wrong and that the administration can explain this in a way that somehow makes what happened to those children more understandable. I had to pull myself away from it before I got pissed.
****ing weirdo.
You mean a preacher believes in a single entity that is larger then life and with facts disputing otherwise refuses to believe the facts but can't come up with actual facts to back his side up and decides to use blind faith to defend the entity?
Wait, did she just slip "I was a childhood sex abuse victim" into the backend of that strained statement? Not to put too fine a point on it, but that probably means she's crossed some sort of lady-wack-job-hysterics threshold where there just ain't no backing down, listening to reason, or really anything other than hyperbole from here on out.
It's the female version of saying that every time you see a family at dinner you walk up to them, ask permission to address the children, and then tell the children their parents could die at any moment.
In both cases I would only recommend a response, if any, along the lines of "There's something wrong with you. Really."
Bolded is a little offensive. Most victims of sexual abuse, especially longtime or from a young age, tend to find ways to rationalize or justify the abuse in order to deal with it.
The "humane" comment in the email has me confused a bit. At first I thought that was related to Jerry. Administration was of course trying to protect the football program.
Now I think in their fake excuses it was more to protect his wife and family. I think that is a more convenient excuse, and more excusable in their minds rather than do the right thing. I'm just trying to understand how they did nothing and justified their non-action (besides $) Poor Dottie was maybe their excuse they used as a reason to not put Jerry in jail 10 years ago. Did not explain that very well as Scotch is flowing.
Listening to sports talk in the area tonight, radio guy starting to think the death penalty might come down. Takes callers and one of the cultists insists that Louis Freeh has an incentive to make Pedo State look bad, in order to deflect attention from an investigation he is apparently the subject of. So bizarre the mental gymnastics the cultists will do to maintain their denial.
