Who cares what the sister's victim thinks? Why does it influence what you think? What if every Sandusky victim didn't blame Paterno for this? It's irrelevant.

The charity as front for several abusers seems quite improbable. I'm not going to begin to consider that without at least the name of a second perp.

I think the facts are explained by a community with no clue how unimportant football is. There's certainly overwhelming evidence of that.

Jetto/CalledDownLight - let me use an example to illustrate my point.

Let's take a woman who is physically abused by her husband. Poor woman is messed up, thinks she deserves it. Doesn't blame him, blames herself. But on a particularly brutal beating one day, she panics and calls the cops fearing for her life. The cops show up. Take down a police report.

Later that day, the woman "comes to her senses" and realizes it's all her fault, and calls the police telling them "hey, this was my bad, I don't want to press charges let's drop the whole thing, k?"

Do you know why, Jetto/CDL, the police can no longer drop the matter? And that whatever this woman says, it won't go away?

(BTW realize this isn't a perfect analogy to Joe Paterno, largely because he's not being charged with a criminal act, but hopefully it gets my point across.)

We dont know the victims families or know people who got sanduskyd. but if the common attitude by these close to victims(and maybe victims themselves) saying they forgive joe pa or didn think he di anythign wrong.

Just to reiterate what I was thinking when I made the post about McQueary.

Let's say that it happened like I initially heard it. McQueary sees them, then they run off to Sandusky's office. I mean it would be different if Sandusky just waves to McQueary, tells him to bug off and he continues to do whatever he was doing to the child.

Now let's imagine that after Sandusky whisks the boy away, McQueary is there stunned, shocked by what he just saw a man, that he has known and respected his entire life, was doing.

It's easy for people to say that he should have immediately called the police( Which I believe he should have done, just trying to look at this from all angles), but Mcqueary was most likely distraught and not thinking clearly after witnessing this. So McQueary looks to his father for advice. His father tells him to tell the "most powerful man" at Penn State, which he does.

I'm not excusing McQueary by any means, but I do believe that he did more than Paterno.

he was being cautious and kept saying "wait for the facts to come out," but then he would lose the reservation and was sharing what he'd do as a head coach if someone came to him with this... and it was implied heavily that this was what paterno did not do.

While I am not a Head Coach, and not coaching at a big time university with one of my best friends being a great coordinator for many years.

I would have had the balls to do more than what Joe did. I think we all would. So then, its not us having balls. its paterno not having any imo.

Not really referencing Holtz specifically, just people in general. I just don't think people realize how much damning information is already out there.

I wonder if all those people who held grudges against Paterno all these years, but couldn't say anything because of the Paterno juggernaut, will suddenly come out of the woodwork and sling more mud at him. Like what happened with Tiger.
