Sorry to have to do this again, but once more I'll have to clear the air by saying you guys have it totally wrong. I've been owned a lot on here, by Eurotrash and others. But that post is not one of those times.

What happened is this:

* thread about hipsters, piled on by everyone saying they hate hipsters
* I come in and say "well I am a hipster"
* Eurotrash digs up a post that proves it to be true
* everyone goes "ooooooh sick burn PJ IS a hipster!

Wha?

Later on in the OOT discussion about that like months later, Dids tried to tell another noob why Euro's "sick burn" was so awesome. His explanation was "Well PJ came into a thread and claimed not to be a hipster, but then Euro dug up an old post that was super hipster, and totally owned him!" So then I showed Dids that the opposite was true, and he backed down and admitted having misread the thread like everyone else did.

But despite that exchange, people still misunderstand what happened there. It was the equivalent of going:

Poster A: LOL Steelers
Poster B: LOL Steelers
Poster C: LOL Steelers
Poster D: Hey wait! I like the Steelers
Poster E: [digs up 5 year-old post and quotes it, and it shows Poster D talking about how awesome Bill Cowher was]
All Posters: OOOOOOH SICK BURN! Poster E just proved that 5 years ago Poster D liked the Steelers!

That makes no sense to me. I even went up to Eurotrash next time I saw him in person and asked him why everyone else thinks that post is a sick burn. Even he was like "yeah I dunno, I just thought it would be funny to post it, didn't realize everyone would make a whole thing about it."

It's just weird all of you guys would suffer from such a serious logic fail or reading comprehension fail. But whatever. I guess it's better than digging up the times I've *actually* been owned even though you have several to pick from.

Here's what really happened:

You write "I don't understand what you guys don't like about hipsters"

Euro posts link to a thoroughly dislikable post you made in full hipster glory.

Pretty simple.

First of all, that's not what everyone claimed was so burn-ish about it, and secondly if that's "thoroughly dislikable" then why don't you just relentlessly troll the EDF Music thread which is that post x1000 every week, and has been for years.

EDF Music Thread is a collection of people, some of whom are surely hipsters, talking about new music or bands or upcoming shows that might be of interest.

There's a big difference between that and saying things like:

"THAT DRUM FILL LEAD IN TO KEYBOARD SOLO IN THE FIRST 1:23 OF ________ IS PROB A TOP 7 MOMENT OF THE LAST DECADE OF INDIE ROCK"

saying things like that makes you "that guy" (the hipster most people loathe)

sharing music and bands with friends is way different

that said, i can only thing of 13, maybe 14 songs that have moments that rival 3:20-4:06 of Bloc Party's 'This Modern Love'
