This is quite funny. You sound like the "purists" who insist that women's basketball is better than men's. When you start talking about the "beauty" of the game, then you aren't talking about sports anymore, but art. Personally, I like watching the best players in the game, so I prefer the NBA (although I watch all basketball).

I guess I'll continue to derail this thread further: imo, shipontilt was just being honest. A lot of people view the tats, cornrows, and black players and their inner racist tells them that something is wrong with the game. The funny part is that there is no shortage of tats, cornrows, and criminals in the NFL yet it's by miles the most popular pro sport. All I can think of is that people simply like that game more and aren't looking to assign reasons to contradict their preference.
As for MT2R and others who prefer college basketball, let them. They're going to like what they're going to like and it's utterly pointless to try to convince them otherwise, whether their reasons are aesthetic or racist (or both). But obviously saying that college is played at a higher level in any capacity is preposterous, and really isn't even worth addressing in any serious manner.
As already been said, between the uniforms "hiding" the players and the higher ratio of white to black in the NFL, the average white man can relate better to the NFL. There definitely exists some underlying racism in some of the hate of the NBA though, just as there is with Tiger Woods, although it is difficult to quantify. I'm sure many don't even realize their racist views, since they feel they can easily explain their dislike without race.
