Even if they did lie and falsify a report, it should only be a fine if there is no actual person specified. I don't think their report can ruin anyone's life. Jail time should only be if a false report can actually affect a person.

This is pretty much the most American thing that could have happened at the Olympics. Some drunken morons cause a scene, and it could have been swept under the rug, but instead Ryan had to go full ****** and claim that he was actually the victim.

And the people who are still trying to convince themselves that this was an actual robbery are just so laughable.

At least one swimmer completely corroborated gas station attendent employee stories

Confirmed the gas station called them that night

Gun could be considered extortion under circumstances, but it seems this is not such a case..was due to drunk and agitated behavior while waiting for police

Lochte the most agitated/rowdy

Meh, I don't know if I buy this ("every endorsement ever"). I'm sure the damage to his marketability would be a lot less if he had just come clean right away though. Phelps has two DUIs and he's still set to rake in god knows how much more endorsement $.

Not sure I agree. Anyone who likes his character, probably can relate to being drunk, really needing to pee and then either pissing in an alley or breaking into a locked bathroom. So long as he cleans this up with a decent apology, I don't think it hurts him that much.
