If you are the world's dumbest person, then yes, his story is true.
The actual version, as confirmed by everyone not named Ryan Lochte, is the guys trashed a service station and then decided they would just leave. A security guard pulled out his weapon and told them that they were staying until the owner gets there. He arrived, and the athletes, faced with the choice of giving him some money or waiting around for the police, decided to give him some money, which amounted to $50.
At which point the incident was pretty much over until Ryan Lochte decided to invent a completely different version of events that involved a taxi getting pulled over (which never happened), a person showing a fake police badge (which never happened), a gun being cocked and pressed against his head (whichy never happened) and him and the other swimmers being forced to turn over all several hundred dollars (which never happened), all the time leaving out the part where they trashed the gas station by being drunken idiots.
But, since America's greatest exports nowadays seems to be bombs and morons, let's all believe that Lochte was really the victim here.
