But the comedic factor after USA loses is just to much to good to not have it.

I'm not even sure if I'm going to watch the medley relay. I've only seen two Phelps finals races; one was the one where they broke the world record and the other was last night. Last night I was totally convinced I had jinxed him by watching, so now I'm a bit scared.

The milky-minutes AT&T commercial is the only tolerable commercial in the entire Olympic coverage IMO. Also, they don't need so many shots of Mama Phelps.

I've thought about it, and I'm kinda glad Americans don't have the Chinese mentality. There have been so many stories that the announcers have told about some Chinese kid wanting to get out of the sport, complaining to their parents, and eventually "coming back" - of course, when you're sent to athletic slave camps at the age of 3, told that you need to perform to get love and affection, it kinda diminishes the spirit of the thing. I'm glad we have time here to find our true talents.
