Yea - I am not a lawyer but isn't withholding evidence about a felony a crime? It is Texas though......

Re: OK, Time to Nuke Baylor

Their quarterback sustained one of the most gruesome lower leg injuries since Theismann yesterday. Their coaches have openly stopped recruiting and are cruising for other jobs. Baylor is already nuked, it's just moving in slow motion.

Good - a simple closed program for 5 years sounds cool. Let the new stadium house women's soccer and lacrosse.

Fine, drop all the bombs you want. But first we need to get Chip and Joanna Gaines up to Fort Worth, and second, we need 35 rebuilt as quickly as possible.

Given Riverman's history of Thread starting (Look at Penn State with a decent shot at a Big 10 Title), I'm anticipating Baylor National Title coached by Bobby Petrino coming in around 2019.

the fact that everyone seems to be kool with these programs essentially self-policing is pretty lol, like what do you expect to happen? especially when there seem to be zero consequences in the rare instances when they actually do get caught ****ing up

Systematically covering up rape absolutely does not happen everywhere. Come on.

Don't be a douche - Athletic departments, coaches and players do not rape and try to cover it up everywhere. No one expects it to happen - do you?

The free labor aspect is irrelevant to any of this.

Re: OK, Time to Nuke Baylor

Are there even double digit athletic departments that are profitable for more than the occasional season

Not that this precludes profit by someone or something else

Rape culture is a very real thing that is fairly rampant at all college campuses. There is a lot of gray area regarding consent when alcohol gets involved. Throw in late teen boys who are way up in aggression and testosterone percentials with a mix of entitlement / notoriety and you get **** like this.

Do you remember when you were that age? I don't know many guys who's number one priority wasn't trying to find the next thing to stick their dick in.

We all agree that there is a problem on college campuses. But what was discussed was the "Systematically covering up rape" by Baylor's players, coaches and Athletic departments. That does not happen everywhere.

Systematic cover up, maybe not, but promoting the culture and fostering it instead of fighting against it yes.

I do think that those in high profile positions in student life - athletes, coaches, student government, professors, etal should take a larger more aggressive stance against these abuses.

All that said - I still think it is time to NUKE Baylor.

OK, Time to Nuke Baylor

Art Briles is suing Baylor for libel and conspiracy.

Sure, yeh, I guess. Why not? His coaching career is over, might as well try to get some more money even though he's already sued Baylor for wrongful termination. Not a good look for him obviously. He should just disappear and stay there.

Re: OK, Time to Nuke Baylor

And now a former trainer got raped and signed a NDA in exchange for free tuition.

Also the Title IX investigator was blocked at every turn from conducting an actual investigation.

This is really, really bad and obviously systemic. Where is the NCAA?
