Sorry, I agree, I should have said if they appeal for the pen. As players can genuinely slip etc

I realize none of you guys follow American football but they wear shoulder pads in the NFL, the defenders are not grabbing the jersey, they are grabbing the inside of the pads and pulling down. Way different than grabbing a stretchy shirt which is going to get torn to shreds way before any legs start breaking.

Kind of reminds me when they outlawed pulling a player down by their hair for ones who had long hair. Lots of people thought that was fine for a while.

My goodness the comparison's to NFL horsecollar tackles, where the goal is to actually get the guy on the ground not just stop him to what Chiellini did to Saka are mind boggling lol. Yea you shouldn't be able to just grab a guy by the shirt like that, and i said at the time it was a 15 yard penalty in the NFL, but comparing the actual violence of that tackle to the NFL versions of it are so far off base.
