4-for-4, all singles. Led off three ABs so I was looking to just get on base for those. Stole four bases too!
Started and pitched ok. 5 IP, 6 K, 2 BB. Tough to tell how many earned runs - 9 crossed the plate but there were at least six errors behind me. I'd say 4 ER is fair. Had a good fastball, bad slider, no change working today. There was a triple play behind me though, which was pretty amazing. Second I've seen in a game I've played in.
3-3 w 1B, 2B and 3B. And a walk. 3 RBI. 3B one bounced the wall in LC. Wood bat. Finally had a good day at the plate. Felt great.
Started and pitched pretty well. 4IP 4H, 2K 0BB 3R 1ER. Left after 4 when we were up 9. The other team was pretty dreadful but still, a good outing. One 3 ball count all day. Game was called after 5 when we were up 14-3. The other team played 2 games, one at 11AM and ours at 5PM at fields about 20 miles apart. LOL Rec baseball scheduling.
I finally got the start last night on the mound. First play is an easy two hopper to SS who throws to first where our fat ass 1B drops it. I walk the next guy (sign of things to come). We get a FC on the next play. Next guy hits a pop up that barely makes it past the dirt behind second base. Our 2B never moves. CF dives but can't quite get it. So I should be out of the inning. Then I walk the next 3 guys, throwing 12 out of 13 pitches for balls. I throw a WP to the next guy and then I take myself out of the game. Never had a performance so embarrassing. I had no idea where the ball was going. Mechanics were awful and I had no idea how to fix it. Add to it that we were the 2nd game of the night on the field and I kept landing right on the edge of the big hole that the pitchers had made from the first game. I seem to have that problem all of the time and am not exactly sure what to do with it. I guess I should just dig it all out, but that may take me five minutes. Anyway, thought I'd share my awful performance.
OBP, son! Two ABs were with two strikes. Gotta drive my average pitches per PA up.
The pitchers in my league generally have decent control. The majority of the #1's are ex-college pitchers and almost everyone was a good HS player or worked hard after HS to play a decent level of ball.
First bad outing pitching today. Came in without a bullpen and could not throw strikes. 5BB and a HBP. Had no rhthym at all. Tried to grind it out but made way for someone better pretty quick. Luckily we had a big lead and won easily.
HBP, BB, FC 3R at the plate. FC was a check swing roller that went about 10 feet.
know the feeling KJS. Had a game today, went 1 for 2 with a flyout and a double to the fence in left. stole 3rd, score our only run on a SF. lost 13-1, we are terrible.
Also sick of a baseball team I'm on. Guys who are way worse than me are batting ahead of me because they had a good performance in a 16-4 rout against a team that is a huge joke. (I missed that game.) Batting ninth (lol) today. Went 2-for-3 with two line drive singles while the rest of the team struggled. Pitched, struck out two, walked two, intentionally put a ball in some guy's ribs because they were stealing third base up 8+ runs in the ninth inning.
had that same issue kyle with the batting order. Just ridiculous the people that have hit in front of me this season. Not a chance in hell I play with this team next year. Hopefully, going to switch to an all wood league run by a different group. Games this year have been about half metal/half wood. Managers decide ten minutes before the game which is just silly.
I play in two other leagues which are fine. But this one has bothered me for years. I only keep playing in it because the level of competition is high and I like a challenge, but with that comes bull**** nonsense from guys who still think they are hot ****. You're in a beer league paying to play baseball. No one here is important. If you were any good you'd be playing semi-pro ball up the street.

got to pitch for the first time in 4 years. 1 IP no walks no hits 1 K 0R. lol, hopefully they will give me more innings if i prove that i belong in the rotation.

i've noticed with every pitcher we see, someone in the dugout will say "omg i should be mashing this guy, its batting practice speed" lol.
Aroldis Chapman could be on the mound and one of my teammates will call it BP speed
Another win for my beer league team. Had 5 Coors Lights before I went into pitch for the 9th. 1 IP, 1 ER, 2 walks. Went 0-for-4 with two line outs, a BS strikeout, and a jam shot ground ball. Picked two nice shorthops at me at first base and made a nice stretch too. I find myself playing 1b a lot more for this team which is kinda fun. Never played there in HS/College.
