Filled in for a 35+ Wednesday night league tonight. First time with this team, 2 guys from my Sunday league. I show up and they ask me to start on the mound. 42 year olds should not pitch on 3 days rest but I am competitive and stupid so I did. Lasted 2.1 and gave up 4 runs, 3 BB, 2K, 1 HBP. I had nothing. My arm was so toast.
We got 3 hit and lost 9-0. We had 2 runners reach 2B. Once when I got a stand up gap double and once when I walked after a single. Such a bad team. And it took me 2 hours round trip driving for a 2 AB and a 2.5 hour game. I love baseball but not gonna do that again.
Went ya-ya off some JC pitcher. Laid a low-80's fastball down the pipe for strike one in my 2nd AB and I parked it 360ish feet to LF. Feels good to get the first out of the way. 3-for-5 with a double off a former D-I pitcher to left-center. Threw 4 IP, allowed 1 ER, walked one, struck out 5. Good day.
Pitched 2 innings mop-up today. 1-2-3 first inning. Second inning I retired first 2 on 1-3s. Third guy singles, next guy walks, next guy HPB. Then a guy swings 3-0 for an inning ending 1-3. Not sure why he didn't take. 2nd batter of the inning: Daniel Baldwin, making Baldwin brothers 0-1 versus me lifetime.
0-3 at the plate. 2 weak ground outs and a K. Blech. Team won though, now in 3rd place.
Started on the mound, lasted 3IP. Gave up 10 runs, no idea how many earned. 0 in the first and then we gave them 5 or 6 outs in the 2nd and 3rd and gave up 5R in each. Dropped pop-ups, 5 hole grounders, bad throws from SS>1B. And yes some legit hits as well. 3K, 1BB, 1HBP. Overall I felt good. Was hitting my spots well but got tired. It was 90 out. The other team was a division above us and clearly better.
1-3 at the plate. 2Ks and a 2 run 2 out triple. Took the first pitch in first 2 AB (both Ks) and decided to jump on the first one in my last AB and laced a triple down LF.
Game one: 3-for-3, 2b, SB, 1 RBI. 6 IP, 3 ER (6 R), 6 K, 4 BB, 4 H. Left the game early up 2 runs (I hope we won).
Game Two: 2-for-4, 3b (split the outfielders in RCF), 2 RBI. Picked up a tough win, 6-3 - whole lineup contributed, great pitching, defense, good hitting vs. a tough pair of pitchers.
almost got into a fight. we're losing about 12-3 to best team in league. guy on 2nd base starts holding up his fingers indicating the pitch and yelling out "3, 3, 3." I had seen him do this the last time we played them too. I was playing SS and told him to knock that **** off. He replied with a profanity and I told him they deserved to have someone take one in the ear hole. Hilarity ensued.
I've gone 1 for 3 every game for about a month. Got to be over .200 now.

Hit my 2nd career triple ever, at a field with no fences, naturally. Scorched a (would be) one-hop line drive to RCF splitting the outfielders and it rolled forever.
Been pitching OK. One blow-up but otherwise have been good. 1:1 k/bb ratio, which isn't good, but most of them came in one game where I just stayed in to get hammered so we didn't have to bring anyone in.
Hitting like .550 across all teams in 40ish plate appearances with a .620ish OBP. One double, one triple, one HR, the rest singles. Need to man up soon.
team is complete bush leaguers. i played 1B last inning. Same guy hits slow grounder that our 3B cuts off. As he's running to first and the ball is being thrown to me, he starts screaming at me.
we should have run a pickoff play and I would have "accidentally" missed the ball.
last game, they tried to have the CF come in and do a pickoff at 2B. throw went into CF, our guy scored.
Team got smoked on Sunday. 16-6 or something. Team was in the division above us.
2-4 at the plate with two 1B, 1SB, 1R. One of my outs was cued off the end of the bat, hit 3 feet foul about 30 feet up 1B line and had so much English it spun back into fair territory.
Played a decent SS. 1 error on a ball that was smoked on the ground and rolled right up the heal of my glove and up my arm. Didn't have my throwing hand in place to prevent it.
Team is riddled with injuries. Have 9 guys showing up for every game. Good for getting a lot of ABs but we are a whisker from some forfeits, I fear.
I went looking for someone else to pick a fight with, but the other team wasn't interested. Had a Double, Triple, and absolutely crushed a ball for a 6-4-3. I don't remember the last time I ran 270 feet, on or off the field.
Probably hitting over .600 this year in combined leagues. Can't make an out to save my life. Pitching could be going better, but I've been doing alright.

My slider would be ****ing awesome if I could command it. At some point I'll figure out how to throw it and I'll actually be able to strike guys out on a regular basis.
went 2 for 4, with a 3B, 1B, SF, and 3 RBIs. Moved up to leadoff for this game. Won a slugfest 19-11. Triples in consecutive games for first time in my life. It's fun not sucking.
