In practice, think about how absurd it is to say that the Eagles
just let Foles go after a 2nd straight Super Bowl. So if they can't let him go and can't trade him then you either a) restructure a contract commensurate with his accomplishments or b) pick up that option. So now you have in-his-prime Foles, making more money than Wentz (and in the first scenario maybe with as great or greater a long term commitment)... just on the bench? How do you think that's going to play in the area and in the locker room when Wentz struggles/gets hurt/team loses?
