I don't think standing outside your house and holding a sign that says, "NHL, I don't like you anymore" will cause any harm either. But I can still have an opinion on the validity of taking such an action and/or whether I think it's kind of silly.
But to answer your question, theoretically I suppose it could be possible but certainly highly unlikely.
I really doubt very many people are going to boycott the products anyway. Even those who sign the petition. Will Little Caesar's see ANY difference in their sales at all? I mean, will it be trolling from me if two months from now I find sales numbers for any of the boycotted products and show that the boycott isn't effecting them at all? I think it's reasonable in normal boycott situations to see how effective it is. But obviously this isn't exactly a "normal" boycott situation. It's just a "boycott" to say you're doing a boycott but I don't think tjay really thinks they will impact sales at all. Maybe I'm wrong on that though.
The Molson boycott of 1979 was a more organized and unified effort with a sole purpose AND they actually did have enough backing nationally to truly impact sales (I believe). There are some big differences there.
Me not jumping on the bandwagon for this effort does not make me the enemy.
What if I started a different thread here similar to the 50 other anti-NHL movements that are out there now? Mine would be to try to gain a following here and on my website for everyone to post, "NHL-YOUSUCK" on every twitter and facebook page we could find and to all sign a petition that we will not buy tickets and will not support the teams and not watch the games if they don't solve this in the next 30 days.
Additionally, we must all cancel our Verizon coverage and switch to ATT because Verizon are big sponsors of the NHL on NBC and also have the Washington Capitals arena named for their business.
I mean, perhaps my goals here are genuine and I truly believe something like this would have a shot of working. But just because I'm super-enthusiastic about it and am genuine does that mean that everyone should just jump right in and support me and that nobody should be allowed to point out that they don't think it will do anything or, more harshly, that it's pretty freaking stupid?
