Just on an unrelated note. I watched a big compilation of NHL players trash talking. Marchand seems like the biggest POS in the league. Corey Perry and Nazem Kadri also appear to be big time clowns.

I don't hat MacDavied, it just pisses me off that after years of getting top picks they still sucked and land a once in a generation player. Other teams get stuck on the treadmill of mediocracy and have a tough time because they try and refuse to tank. Now it looks like they will become a powerhouse with the possibility of many future cups and they don't deserve it./end rant

If there's a penalty every time McDavid falls down, it's too much to beat the team and the refs. That's the treatment Gretzky got and Crosby gets.

It sure makes them look good when they show up everywhere on the ice at full speed and seem to glide through checks.

Did you see that play from game 2 they kept showing where McDavid tried to split the D? The D bodily stopped him, a very simple play, and they gave Anaheim a penalty. I'm surprised they didn't give out one to each guy. He had the puck, it wasn't interference.

I never want to watch a game called that way again.

Meh. I mean, any team that gets a McDavid / Crosby / Ovechkin level player with a first overall pick is extremely lucky. You could extend that to the guys just a smidge below that like Kane and Matthews too. It is what it is. In order to turn around a failing franchise in most cases you need to be very fortunate or have a ton of patience.

Having said that, the Oilers as an organization have been completely inept for years despite having all of the resources to pull themselves out of mediocrity. For that reason I actually think their fans deserve to see some success. I feel the same way with Toronto. The last decade has been miserable to both fanbases and now they both look poised to be serious contenders in their respective conferences for the forseeable future.

I do not apply that logic to the Caps though. I am hopeful that they never get out of the second round in the Ovechkin era.

Pens/Caps series: Your thoughts?

Man at the rate the Caps are hurting people, the Sens have a legit path to the finals. Sens need the Caps to win 1-2 games and keep scumming it up. Pens gonna come out of that series down a lot of bodies.

If the caps are ever going to beat the pens in this era, it'll be a series like this. After losing the first 2 at home, they're essentially expected to lose going forward....even more so than before the series.

Results oriented reffing at it's worst. That's barely a minor penalty.

I thought the slash near his head was far more dangerous and worse. Guess he was getting hit in the head regardless.

on second look, niskanen could have avoided the head shot, but that's a minor at worst.
