Also lol at the outrage over the jets being more of a story than their opponents IN CANADA. Good team beats mediocre team that people actually have ties to, it makes perfect sense even before considering that it was the first playoff appearence in their new location and the Jets are the only fanbase in the NHL that's creative and can produce something resembling support for their team.

If the ducks were a legit cup threat it might be different but the only reason people might remember this series in five years are the jets.

they'll get there soon enough, probably
Offensive skill/creativity definitely a problem vs actual good teams as this series showed. Ehlers and Petan hopefully will be a fix.

These playoffs are mostly going perfectly. Almost no bad outcomes so far.

Why would it be logical to appeal to .1% of the base watching the game?

So sad for the Jets.

Fans were obv great. Whole city of Winnipeg seemed to be infactuated with hockey these past few weeks. Hope they get back to the playoffs soon, going to be tough in the Central though. None of those other teams seem to be going away soon.

Anyway, I was looking at some numbers for the Ducks and made myself a graph as to who I thought was the MVP for the Ducks...

The guy that stands out to me here is Cogliano. I think Cogliano was awesome during the series. People will want to talk about guys like Kesler and Perry because they got the points but there are a few reasons why I think Cogliano was far more valuable than those other two guys.

The one problem with advanced stats sometimes is that people tend to completely ignore special teams which is crazy to me because it obv has a pretty large impact on the outcome of a game or a series. The Ducks had a very good PK this series and guys like Cogliano who played on the PK were very effective.

Cogliano will probably get overlooked because of guys like Kesler/Perry putting up points but Cogliano put up 4 points in 4 games this series and was very good 5 on 5 as well. He was able to generate tons of scoring chances throughout the series and was also very good territorially.

Shorthanded, Cogliano was one of the best PKers for Anaheim (Vatanen probably the only one better) and really limited the Jets PP when he was on the ice and actually created quite a few chances shorthanded as well.

I really think the speed of Cogliano caused problems for the Jets and because of it, they often found themselves pinned in their own because Anaheim was able to enter the zone without many problems and because of that they generated a ton of scoring chances while Cogliano was on the ice. He may not have put up the points that Kesler/Perry did but to me he was their best player.

you either misunderstood me or you think 99.9% of people watching the game in Canada are Anaheim fans

Na. I want the best to be there and earn it. They've got a good team.

Chicago-Anaheim conference final would be excellent.
