if it is, maybe it has something to do with the puck going the other way when wraparounds fail a lot of the time, maybe too many offensive players crashing the net and if gives the other team a good counter opportunity
(like a shot missed high and wide that wrings around)

keith sitting on bench boards feet hanging over, skate gets hit with puck, whistle blows, coach argues too many men, raff says he wasn't on the ice so no to many men call, result: puck drop at center ice

i can see it not being too many men

but what about interference?

i believe a game in the last week someone recieved an interference call for playing the puck with his glove while sitting on the bench

Not sure, just my eyes.

You probably have one fewer player in front of the net, and maybe situation bias, you're more likely to get a wraparound try when there's nobody to pass to.

Also that player takes a second and third shot often and doesn't think to dump it in the corner.

But maybe the defenceman is forced to be in a good position?
