lol Kronwall has gotten away with this hit for so long that WANGZ fans have convinced themselves it's a clean hit.

seems like a pretty mild hit but i'm fine with the NHL cracking down on head contacts, accidental or not

Yeah it's almost like you guys haven't heard of any of the cte news and lawsuits by ex-players in other sports. Players also didn't have to wear helmets either...

OK I'll go full hippie and say fine but why start to enforce it now? in game 7 of the playoffs. That is just not right and again I ****ing HATE the Wangz.

note: as you may be able to tell I just watched Inherent Vice and absolutely loved it!!

yes but the penalty really should be matched financially by the team. ideally the league should implement a system where it's not in anyone's interest to play in a dangerous way on the ice.

Palat had a very similar hit on Glendening where he launched up and contacts primarily his head. He's not even getting a call.

My main issue is consistency and the fact that game 7 in the playoffs is when they decide to make a stand. Do that in the regular season so players know where they stand.

habs crush the wingz but the bolts got somethin for em.

quack quack the ducks r deep. fat freddie pluggin it up. kesler is beyond a stud...u cant be bad in any zone with a guy like that. ur neutral zone with him up front is going to be sick, and offense and defense. and that top line has some guys too. and they are just deep with some d'ers that hit and have balls.

LOL at anyone who doesn't think this was a suspendable hit. You can argue that the timing of the suspension is suspect and that the league hasn't been consistent punishing this sort of thing recently, but ultimately HE was the one who delivered a textbook charge with a headshot and he's responsible for the consequences. It's just so obviously a dirty hit.

Yeah, it's especially disappointing to hear ex-players complain about the suspension and whine about how the sport has become "pussified" and whatnot. Hey guy, you can't b itch about your former teammates off-ing themselves on the reg and then turn around and be like "LOL back in my day a hit like that was called playing hockey! haha!"

I think the suspension is fine and somewhat in line. It was by far the dirtiest hit of the playoffs. The primary contact point puts it way past the others. He catches other players head with his arm.

That said, I wish the line would be much stricter.

well yeah obviously 5 on 3 is a way stronger than 6 on 4 already from maths, plus the extra space for the puck. I think everyone knew that.
