it's the application of the rule mostly

if they used any kind of discretion and treated plays like that one as just a minor they'd be way better off
save the double for when a real injury occurs (guy split wide open, teeth knocked out, etc)

but the league hates trusting the refs to use their discretion and make judgments

I'd like to give Q the benefit of the doubt because he has won several Cups and I am just a shmuck who just really really likes hockey. But what in the name of Lord Stanley was he thinking with those line changes last night? The Kruger-Shaw-Desjardins line was playing well so he decides to blow it up, bench Teuvo and Vermette and put in Versteeg and Nordstrom who haven't played in a month. Versteeg said "the first two shifts it was like I was standing in a speedway". Great, just f-ing great. And Nordstrom was out of position on the game winner. Perfect.

So I've come to the conclusion that either....

a) Teuvo and Vermette are hurt and Coach Q is covering for them

b) Coach Q has money on the Ducks

c) I know more about hockey than The Stache
