Holtby's going to play around 90 games this year.

That's pretty insane.

3,2,1 until everyone and his dog is confused by how that WASN'T called a goal. No goalie interference and no high stick. GFS

should probably count
(barring what it hit, but that wasn't the call)

Ward established position outside the crease, Hank crashed into him

Ward was clearly over top of Lundquist though. Since the puck was over him, Lundquist had no ability to attempt to make the save because Ward was all over him. The precedent has been set all year where very questionable "inadvertent" interference plays have been waved off.

they usually err on that side, but not always

not at all surprised they did in this case though
(home team down 3-1 in a 0-0 game)

still think it should have counted, but ^ weighed heavily i assume

giving goalies the right to go where ever they want whenever is obv horrible

players are entitled to their own space outside the crease, Lundqvist basically tried to jump through Ward to attack the puck and lost gg, but he got bailed out

Ward was NEVER in the crease nor did he instigate the contact. Your argument is invalid.

something i forgot to discuss.

how ****ing pathetic is it that tampa decided to ban selling tickets to people outside florida for fear their homegame would get dominated by the oppositions fans?

and they also banned wearing habs jerseys in the stands

I heard about the tickets and thought it was weird but the jersey thing is WAY over the top and straight up wrong. Still can't make me a Habs fan though.

They've been calling it this way all year.

I agree it's generally a terrible call but at least they've been consistent and they are obv leaning on the goaltender's side.

Also, I disagree that Lundquist initiates contact. I feel like contact is initiated when he turns and basically falls over Lundquist. The puck goes over Lundquist's head and he probably never saw and has essentially ~0% chance to make a save even without Ward there but if they've been calling that play that way all year, they have to do it in the playoffs too.

In round 1 it seemed like every game was a home game for Detroit so it obv didn't work that well.
