Can somebody explain why the nhl doesn't stagger their games for the playoffs? After tomorrow, games go like 8 p.m. and 9:30 or 7 and 7:30. It doesn't make sense. If you don't want to have the games go late for eastern conference teams then put a game from each conference on the same night as oppose to having both games being from the same conference. Seems dumb from a business standpoint.

Arena availability is a factor.

Calgary-Anaheim played Thursday-Sunday because the Honda Center was unavailable yesterday. The Bolts and Habs now have two days off, then play Wednesday-Thursday because Amalie Arena is unavailable Tuesday.

Thanks that makes sense for days, but they could at least stagger the times on those days so they don't overlap as much

Agreed - it's going to be brutal for overlap until Thursday/Friday.

Time zones is also a factor. Like if NY/MTL both have home games on a weekday, do you really blame the NHL for not starting one at 7pm local time and the other at 10pm local time?

I never trashtalk because I know that it will come back at me in this thread without delay.

I mean it was pretty clear that Price was the major factor which got us to the playoffs. Why are so many Habs fans expecting us to be a contender now.

When I look at Pacioretty I see a player who performs well in regular season and is pretty much a invisible in playoffs for three years in a row now.
