If so, please rank that first line vs the others in the league. 28th?
Not by your "sortbypoints" definition, no. But as far as efficiency and metrics go, they'd probably do quite alright.

If Bergeron is a 1st liner by himself, and so is Kessel, and Marc Savard is better than Joe Thornton or Vincent Lecavalier, then Carolina beating Boston in the '09 ECQF is the biggest upset in sports history.

Spoiler:
It was all possible because of Cam Ward.

Look, the original post you made basically said Boston has two first lines. I took issue with that because it's simply not true.

If you mean they have two first lines relative to the rest of the talent on Boston, fine. If you mean relative to the rest of the league, then lol.

ok, so i guess the matchups Boston will be looking for are:

Marchand-Bergeron-Recchi
Chara-Seidenberg
vs
Sedin-Sedin-Burrows

and

Lucic-Krejci-Horton
whoever their 2nd best pairing is (Ference/Boychuk?)
vs
Higgins-Kesler-Raymond
yes this is the Bruins 2nd best pairing. the 3rd pairing involves Kaberle, hence its the third best pairing.

except that it is. bergeron's line + krejci-horton-lucic drive play. we have different definitions of 1st line.

I'm not sure why people keep putting words in my mouth, I never once said anything about look how many points that have.

I watched lots of Bruins this year, both in the playoffs and reg season. They happen to be my favorite Leastern team.

Bergeron is a very good two way forward. He's Kesler light. Putting it into context to what Triumph said the best B's forwards left for him to play with as a "first line" are Marchand and Ryder?

Those two would be far down the list of most teams in terms of depth. Couple that with the fact that Bergeron is no Yzerman or Sakic and you do not have a first line unless you are talking about the Islanders.

If you don't think Boston's first two lines are that good because of their lack of point production, what reasoning are you using for stating they aren't that good?

This doesn't further your point in any way. How many times would a player with Bergeron's already cited talent be thrown out there with Jody Shelley-like players? I'll answer that for you: it would never happen because it's dumb. If you want to replace his linemates with guys with some sort of talent, they'd probably still do fine.

Kesler is actually a good example of this. He played with bad teammates all year and still had a very good season. He can carry a line with guys who aren't as good as he is, just like Bergeron could.

so do any of you Bergeron fanboys want to speculate as to how Boston's super terrific happy lines are going to stack up against Vancouver's, or are you just here to remind us all that shots >>> goals again?

they're not going to do particularly well because vancouver is really good and boston's defense absent chara blows. no one's disputing that. what is being disputed is that patrice bergeron isn't awesome, because he is. team canada noticed.

I agree Bergeron is awesome, I guess we have a different view on what makes a first line.

I want the last 30 minutes back.

Final would be somewhere in the neighborhood of a grand.

Lower bowl seats would easily catch 3 or 4 K from a scalper. More if the Leafs and Habs were playing in the finals.
A lot depends on what teams are playing. Habs Van final would probably fetch some extra for a scalper.
League sets the prices for the playoffs too I do believe.

The great thing about a possible Flames Cup run in the 2p2 era (if I'm still posting 32 years from now) is that I'll be alone on an island in the threads, because ao will once again be a diehard Jets fan and the Jarome Iginla gimmick will probably find himself behind bars somewhere.

"Matty Stajan, ma nig" is still the greatest location in 2p2 history. Bar none.

man, the "Marchand-Bergeron-Ryder" first line talk made me remember how much I HATE Marchand.

Is there any way the Canucks can win in 3?
