3 Super Bowls, 2 World Series and an NBA Championship in the past decade. I can't imagine anyone feeling sorry if Boston sports fans don't celebrate their 7th championship in recent years. Bean Town can step aside and give another city a turn IMO.

Also, that Whitegoose chicks trolls used to have a little meat to them. Shame to see her run out of material with the big series upon us.

I'm also quite tempted by Boston sweep paying 25-28x money.

Exactly. I could feel some sympathy for long-time Bruin fans, but not for Boston sports fans in general.

Played my first round of the year today btw. 44-42-86, lol. Tripled the 1st, doubled the 18th, I want to throw my putter into Lake Ontario. You'd think being a Flames fan, I'd still be a single digit handicapper. butnahhhhhhhhh

I played today and bent the **** out of my 8-iron when my ball was on top of a root that I didn't see. Nice score for not getting out all year, I shot 85 but I suck. Need to hit the range big time if I'm going to get back to a 4. I also need a new 8-iron I think.

That said I'd cheer for a teams like SJ, Chicago and even Boston (not this series though obv) because I think they have really good fans.

It doesn't seem like the rest of Canada is behind the Canucks though from the general feeling I get. Vancouver has always had a disconnect with the rest of the country though so I'm not surprised.
I am seeing a lot more Canucks flags and shirts in Toronto and area.
Jersey's are flying off the shelves and are pretty much gone in the Vancouver area according to global news.

You may have to be a little older to understand this. Hockey brings Canadians together.
72 summit series , Canada Cup, World Cup of Hockey and the Olympics.
It's funny how a player that a lot of people hate on, Not going to mention his name can be put on Team Canada and score the winning goal in OT at the Olympics and make everybody cheer and for that 2 weeks He's the best thing and a great player. Back to the NHL and the regular season grind and it's like well I have no use for him.
Just like here, people are saying if the Nucks win the cup it's tainted. Because of a couple of bad calls or a fluke goal.
Well you know what? Thats all part and parcel of the game. Van was the better team in the West and the Best this season Hands down. Bos probably not the best team in the East but the best during the playoffs.
Canadian fans who cheer for Canadian teams will in all likelyhood cheer for Vancouver. Just like the American fans who cheer for SJO or Det will cheer probably for Boston.
Sometimes you have to be a little lucky.

I am not the least bit offended if people from Toronto don't cheer for Vancouver, even though Boston should be a hated divisional rival(guess when you are lolbad like the Leafs you don't really have any rivals).

Myself and I believe many Canucks fans would never cheer for the Leafs against any team but Calgary in the hypothetical dreamworld where they make a SCF.

Most Canuck fans would cheer for Montreal, Ottawa, Wpg and even Edmonton if they were in a Cup Final.

I'm in the jaded "screw everyone else" camp once my team loses. If the games are exciting and fun that's a bonus, but I'm getting just as drunk if they're not.

I'm with ao. I just don't understand the need to cheer for someone. I guess people like winning or something, maybe I've had it wrong all these years.

Ya unless there is a particular player I would really like to see win (or I put money on the series) I just want entertaining games

That said, as I'm getting drunk, I will vehemently cheer against whatever teams my drunk friends around me are cheering for if they are losing/it's a close game.

I'm completely with the last 4 posts. Bitter loser syndrome, and I don't care.
I'll root for whomever I bet on, and against the media darlings and public at large's favorites.

Also rooting for a non-goaltender Conn Smythe. lol reboundo, and will always think of tt as a sieve. lets see some goals!

i don't know if people mean that they'd actually "cheer" for another team in any meaningful way. imean, is anyone wearing a jersey, rocking car flags, etc or a 2nd team (other than WG, ldo)? but i might favour one team to win it all, or one team over another in a given series.

if i have another reason to root for a team once the Canucks are out, then i'll do that. it might be because i like players on a team, maybe if they have former Canucks, or guys from BC. sometimes i'm bitter towards the team that knocks mine out, but even last year i think difficult to hate on the Blackhawks. once i got over losing, i think pulled for them against SJ & Philly. i mean i like Toews, Keith, Seabrook, etc, and they had some local boys like Ladd, so why not? other years i might just hate on the team that knocked us out, or watch dispassionately, or just get really drunk.

but like i said before, i could definitely see being happy for people in Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and probably even Toronto or Calgary if they shipped a SC. and especially so in the cases where i know fans of those teams irl (not to mention that fans among regs here). and i'd probably be more inclined to watch the games as well, but then again i generally watch a ton of hockey in anyway, especially the playoffs, and i can't remember the last finals i didn't watch most/all of.

Once my team is out, I'm not cheering for anyone.

Well, unless some team is still playing Calgary I guess.

You know the Canucks are doing well when this doesn't even turn into a joke about the massive unlikelihood of this scenario existing anymore.

Apparently Maxim Lapierre could become the first player to win the Stanley Cup after playing for 3 different teams in the same season. Not sure how accurate that is but I just read that somewhere.
