how the series is officiated will be a big factor, if the refs call a lot of penalties the Bruins are screwed, if it's called like Game 7 vs Tampa then the Bruins have a much better chance.

Agreed, if special teams play a large role in the series I don't think Boston has much of a chance. Their best bet is to have the game played predominantly 5 on 5.

Canucks want to win. Bruins want to win Of course.
Bruins may have the edge in goal (arguable) but their D can't move the puck as well as Van. If they pinch they will get caught. Nucks too fast.
They do not have the scoring power the Nucks have either.
I'd like to say 6 or even 7 close games but I think only 5. Van wants to win this at home in front of their fans.
Malhorta being back even if his Ice time is limited will be a big boost for this team. A lot more Character than anyone else. We have seen it all post season.

I might be able to buy Kesler getting the Conn Smythe if Vancouver wins since he actually plays tough minutes but I think I'd still give it to Thomas. There's zero chance Boston is here without him.

It's the playoffs, so of course anything could happen, especially when you have a goalie that is capable of stealing games. But anyone who thinks the Bruins should be the favourite here is deluded IMO.

There's a difference between elite and ridiculously playing out of his mind. Rask is really good but considering how many shots the Bruins defense gives up and the even goal differential against Tampa, even the small difference between Thomas and Rask could have cost them that series.

Just to be clear, I don't mean to downplay Thomas' performance in the Tampa Bay series. He absolutely stole Game 5 and played great in Games 3 and 7, all wins for the Bruins. Just saying he did not play so well in some other games (Games 1 and 4, in particular). Simply put, there's no way to know what Rask would have done in the series. My only point was don't throw around the "zero chance" if you yourself have said that their backup is "elite-level".

You're right that it's hard to say how well Rask would have played, but Thomas has still played out of his mind during the playoffs as a whole. I think the droppoff from him to Rask, though most likely small, would have made a difference considering how bad the Bruins defense has played in a few games this postseason while Thomas is back there standing on his head.

OK, this might be a little OT for this thread, but do any Vancouverites know what is happening with ticket sales, or aren't there any for this round? Boston's announced they will be selling tickets on Tuesday, but nothing from the Canucks. I knew my chances of getting any would be slim, but I was going to at least give it a try.
