Detroit is exhibit #1 on how not to manage a roster in the cap era. The biggest mistake you can making is overpaying a veteran in decline for past performance because of "loyalty" and the Red Wings did it, like, 8 times in the past several years. Oops.

Dano seems like too good of a player to lose to waivers. He seemed like he had top-six potential when he was acquired.
