They did the second phase of goalie pad size restrictions this year. Now all the parts have been shrunk. Seems to matter a lot. I think the faster pace of the game also leading to more goals.

i temporarily forgot about the goalie equipment thing, that's interesting and very possible

have to think that basically every team trading in their goons for elevating their top prospects asap has something to do with it as well

just playing all of one's best players is something i advocated like 10 years ago i think, league finally catching up to my genius, congrats

I read something that said defenses and systems aren't implemented fully yet so there's high scoring, who knows

What a year so far for Kahun. Have an amazing olympics with Germany, get invited to nhl, make it on the team and now get to play with Toews in the top6. Tonight with his first nhl goal and it was a really nice snipe.
