probably not

What I heard from Volman he did not quite convince me, saying the Leafs have offensive talent even without him is kinda naive.
ya, iirc that really didn't seem to be the case when he was out of the lineup this season

But, I still do think that they could come out net-positive if some team made an outrageous offer.
it's possible, but kinda really seems like FPS to mess around when you land a top-3 franchise center type

didn't read the article because it seemed like dumb clickbait, but everyone else seemed to be saying that it wasn't horrible

saw ppl bringing up the Lindros trade, was that his point? 'cause idk, that whole thing was pretty fluky tbh

think a much more interesting question is if the Laffs should trade JVR, if they aren't going to re-sign him

teams almost never do this if they're going to make the playoffs, but they should

someone did do this recently but i can't recall at the moment
traded a UFA-to-be or two, went a couple rounds in the playoffs anyway because guess what, the difference is fairly marginal

Last year the Blues traded Shattenkirk even though they were in the playoffs.

Canucks don't get that fluky goal late and you probably get the ENG you need there

ouch

i woulda been leery of that one, expecting Boeser to do something in his "home" game
(don't) play bad, get there

Haha yea would like to hear Babs answer too, might be something similar.

72, volman did reference the Lindros deal, hah did not remember it was sooo much. Would like to hear what teams might offer now cuz should still be crazy. But yea not happening. If Hanzal fetched a 1st and 2nd last year could get nicely from JVR but yea not going either. Very good on PP, will be surprised if not a bystander in some playoff gaa.

lol 72o. Bruins are 7-0-3 in last 10. Don't think anyone's sweating a game where we get a point. Still a shot at TB weirdly enough.

van can't have the same chance as AZ this early

I mean they're way ahead in points at least.

I think the chance AZ and VAN have are so small that you're meant to assume that .001 and .0001 are both basically 0

Obviously flawed, but decent list of who's maybe gonna be out there come trade deadline time:

Barzal mancrush is strong. Was it on Athletic maybe, but bruins asked him "If we passed on you, how would it make you feel?" Barzal:"Good luck with that". Bees didn't like the answer.

Given the last couple seasons they’re probably more likely to miss the playoffs than catch TB

Not in that dumpster of a division this year. I'd have agreed with you otherwise.

That's a lot of Ottawa, Buffalo, Montreal, Florida, Detroit to pad the 'ol stats. Of the bottom 8 teams in the NHL, those 5 are in the Atlantic, lol. Historic poop.

I lol'd when it said Buffalo wants a 1, conditional pick and a prospect for a free agent at the end of the year in Kane.

Rasmus Dahlin makes Sweden's Olympic team, so there's at least 1 thing to watch from that mess

in other news, Drouin or Galchenyuk at center? Habs may choose neither [with center Phillip Danault out injured even, lol]

so you can't just put a winger at center in the NHL and dust your hands?
who could have seen it coming?

lol

also, the Panthers might well have BARZAL in their ranks had they hired the Canucks Army nerds sooner, as the fancy$tat community hated Crouse, and loved MB iirc

Given that you can put attackers in central midfield no problem in soccer I wouldve thought that it'd work better.

Barzal's 16 goals would be tied for first on the Oilers.
Eberle's 14 goals would be third on the Oilers.
Beauvillier's nine goals would be tied for fifth on the Oilers.
(oh and Taylor Hall has 15 goals)

the Hall one was hilarious too because no one could believe they made that deal straight up 1-for-1, and then in the presser announcing it Chiapet basically admitted he lost the trade lol
