re: Canucks - you have an ownership group and two faces of the franchise openly saying "we are rebuilding" and "if our window is closed, so be it". Is that supposed to light a fire under anyone?

More interesting however, the Oilers - Draisaitl down with a concussion/eye injury. Lucic useless. Maroon regressing to mean. Russell being Russell. Talbot under .900. LOL the big acquisitions of Strome and Jokkinen.

I said in the offseason that everything went right for them last year - no injuries at all, Talbot, Draisaitl, Klefbom all taking major jumps forward, and it seems like the thinking was that it was reasonable to expect them all (plus others) to take another leap forward, when in reality maintaining their performance would have been a great result. A few are taking steps back and the whole thing is crashing down.

The pitchforks aren't out in Edmonton yet, but there's a lot of them being sharpened right now. Will be curious to see who they start stabbing first - Lucic looks like it might be the next guy to get the Hall/Jultz/Eberle treatment from the fans.

I´m sure he is, gotta feel great. And I love Kopi. What I saw last season he played very well then too, just no support and unlucky. Fun to see if Brown can be effective again, or will the early results fade. 2016 or 2013 for him coming up? Somehow not too optimistic.

Canucks have a similar deal going where Jared McCann, Gustav Forsling, and someone else i forget they gave away for nothing have more points this season than anyone on their team

and they're all younger than basically everyone on this team

good stuff

still can't believe they didn't use 1 of those picks on Barzal, he could probably be their #3 center right now. and ya, Chabot would have been a nice pick in there too. guess we'll wait and see on Connor, has been good at the AHL level, still waiting for him to make in impact in the pros though.

and you might wanna pump the brakes a bit on Debrusk, 2g/2a/-4 in 5gp not exactly a world beater just yet. if he is a good player, then hey, congrats.

1. ownership literally hasn't said a word in public in like 5 years
2. lol Benning being the face of the franchise
3. they had to be dragged kicking & screaming to admit that they were rebuilding, they've been reluctant as hell to use that word, and if you look at their current roster the rebuild hasn't really started yet
4. lol professional athletes needing a fire lit under them

Should get a chance soon, Perreault, Lowry, everybody injured. Yup, called him up to play top-six, Connor-Little-Laine.

Kulikov (D) out 2 weeks, he has a nice stick.

Didn't someone else get injured? Trouba was on the bench in the 2nd or 3rd.

Sabres tonight. This VGK BS train has to derail soon. Malcolm Subban is not an NHL goalie.

Some stat came up the other day that included Hossa. How did Atlanta lose Hossa? That team got **** on more than a few times.

"...the team and Hossa could not agree on an extension..."

Fallout from Kovalchuk. **** that guy. That guy ****ed Atlanta right out of hockey.

It took them 20s.

180 goals not impossible.

Connor got a bump to the first line and, lots of hustle from Wheeler and Scheifele, lots of control by Connor, popped it in.

Colombus may be too good, they are tearing a hole in Myers and Poolman.

If you're on the team stats page, it shows who is on the ice in almost real time. I'm watching at about a 30 second delay and it is about perfect.

Seems like any team is too good for the directionless Jets.

On the other hand any 2-0 win is good in my books. Sorry Caps hope you don't fall as far as the Canucks have. Oh wait I forgot, Brock Boeser for CALDER !

But young Lemieux drew a blank, how is that possible? Has been a monster thou, gotta admit Laines not better. If he asked for max could Leafs say "no"? Don´t think so.

They played a good game against the Leafs. Team has embraced the speed game and seems everyone has bought in. They've had a couple of young guys step up, (Butcher, Bratt) and a couple of older guys rejuvenated (Henrique, Schneider) and Heisher looks good. Can see the team improving a few spots this year.

Can see myself watching a fair number of LGN games due to the west coast timing. Leipsic looking decent and every team (esp the Leafs) that let Nate Schmidt hit expansion draft should be lashed. 3-1 lead over Buffalo going into the 3rd to move to 5 wins in 6 games.

Lol Hossa left Atlanta a year and a half before Kovalchuk was traded.

And yeah, **** that guy for wanting out of that hellhole after spending eight years scoring a million goals for bargain prices and not winning a single playoff game. Guess he should've back checked more.
