There was an Athletic article last week about Malkin and his deteriorating relationship with Kessel and the coach last season. Guess which D had the most TOI with those two last year? Rutherford's diagnosis--we had lockerroom issues last year, Malkin is available.

Hockey *Insiderzzz* are so useless. A bunch of these guys--and especially Darren Dreger--spend a good portion of the summer reporting that teams will definitely offer sheet Marner. Turns out he was offer sheeted multiple times and not a single one of them breaks the story until *after* he's already signed his extension with Toronto? LOL. What do these guys do exactly?

I still believe they should get rid of the replay and have Toronto reset the game when there is an egregious error. That’s open ended, flexible, less obtrusive and would speed everything up.

It would put the discretion back with the refs who normally get it right when the team isn’t yellow and black.

Someone please propose this. We could get it fixed before the season starts.

Just one conference call with all the governors, “Hey, we got this better idea.”
