It’s gonna be fine when they’re bounced early because they didn’t solve their having not a good D problem. Do they really think that Andersen will have a .918 or better save percentage? At least J.T. is used to playing on a team with highly suspect D, shouldn’t phase him. Question is will him undeservingly taking the blame for it phase him? How long does it take for the idiotic Toronto media to end their honeymoon with him and blame him for signing a deal that gives them no money to pay for what they actually need. Then we’ll see the “dream” he’s living is actually a nightmare.

For $11M Tor would be better off with Doughty

or Karlsson

Tavares is a luxury not a need for all the teams

Well Doughty signed an extension a year before FA and Dorion wouldn't even trade Hoffman to the Panthers because they're in the same division. No chance he's even picking up a phone call from the Leafs on Karlsson.

John Carlson resigned before the discussion window even opened.

So I guess the Leafs should have just sat on $33M in cap space this year because they already have a good offense? Calvin De Haan wasn't going to move the needle. These takes ITT are really ****ing bad guys

Not a fan of giving bozak 3/15 but that Blues line-up is starting look strong. And people seem to like Robert Thomas a lot too.

What do you guys think the return would be for him? 2 1sts, a top 4 D, and a prospect?

Thought he was looking for 11 so 10 not "terrible" first offer?

Did not know that Brown negotiated his contract without an agent, and DD now did the same. Pretty balsy to do a 88M deal on your own, obv had still a bunch of help. Think agent fee would have been 3% so decent savings for sure.

He's already got at least 1 foot out the door
Tavares & Doughty just signed for 11
So they offer him 10
To stay in hockey hell (aka Ottawa)
It's a non offer
Pure PR BS
A real offer would be 11-13
He'll probably tell them he's gone, and then they'll make another bad offer for bonus PR BS

Clowns

he's not better than Doughty, 10 seems fine? but they should have just offered 11

Yep cant disagree with that. Thought that they often go like "ten", "lol, no" "okay 11-12" and then "yep" if they wanna stay, which would surprise if EK does. And pretty sure extra M or two would not affect his decision (though on that logic maybe he could accept 10 heh). But yea maybe that was just an offer they knew would not be accepted in any case but can say "we offered 80M!"
