Anthony Duclair to CBJ on a 1 year min deal

he turns 23 next month, already on his 4th NHL team
has a shot at the record if he doesn't flame out
his speed will always entice someone to take a shot

Damn loving the arms race with Tor and TB. Karlsson as a bolt sounds beautiful, that PP dear lord.

Lol how many teams did the guy called "suitcase" go through, +10 I guess.

If the Stars missed on EK cause did not let go of Heiskanen, don´t like it too much. Benn closing in on 30, Seguin not too far behind and Radulov 32. Sounds like a time to push the chips in and if you can get EK then do it. And I´m a big Heiskanen believer.

ya Karlsson to Dallas prob makes more sense in a vacuum
more cap space i think
Heiskanen prob a better trade chip than anything TBL will toss at them

but if he's not going to re-sign there, i can see why they don't want to trade Heiskanen

seems like he has his mind made up about going to Tampa tho
so now it's just figuring out how to make it work
most of their guys have some kind of trade protection in their contracts too lol
(so like, they ain't goin' to Ottawa if they can help it)

Fwiw, I recall Karlsson saying that he thinks Jamie Benn is the best player in the world a number of times. He's clearly interested in playing somewhere down south which is which I think it's down to Tampa, Vegas and Dallas. If they're not even willing to include Heiskanen in the deal then it's the most obvious no ever imo.

Pretty sure they'll be building the package around Sergachev.

Player eligibility rules? NHL only or any league? Draft-eligible players?

How many teams you looking to get before we start the draft?

Good point.

To be eligible players must have played at least 1 NHL game or have been selected in the NHL entry draft. If they're currently playing in the KHL/AHL/SHL etc. but have been drafted they're eligible.

7pm - 7am for me, so after ET 6pm you can start skipping me if I´m not around to say otherwise. I´ll make the picks up later during down time.

Oh yeah if EK is not willing to re-sign then thats not good.

43 players filed for arb, not sure if thats low or high. Sounds high, but very few get to that point in the end. But oh man that W Karlsson is an interesting one if it´s decided there.

yeah, i guess

at what point is it not really worth it though?
Sergachev alone is a pretty nice, cheap asset at this point
they'll probably have to burn assets bribing someone to take Callahan
and then the big trade could be something like Palat, Sergachev, prospects, picks for Karlsson & Smith
then you have to re-sign him to a massive 8-year extension that might not end well

easier trade for Dallas to make if they give up Heiskanen, given he's not part of the team yet
could offer up roster players like Janmark, Nichushkin, Lindell & Honka
LolSens will prob demand Brett Ritchie
would be kind of funny if Spezza's expiring contract went back to Ottawa to help the Stars take Bobby Ryan
(Spezza has a 10-team no-trade tho, which prob rules out the Sens)

this is one of those trades where I would rather have the quarters than the dollar, especially in TB's spot where Karlsson really doesn't move their needle. like they may have 15% equity right now, do they need 16%.

Lol nice way to kill the remaining value of a player. You might have thought if other teams are so desperate for Pacman there would have been a trade on the deadline or at the draft.

On his current contract every team should want him. He should get a lot of value this trade deadline.
