how about his not being that great? no seriously, i wouldn't put him in the top 30 defensemen. he's not overrated, he's just not a guy that can take top minutes and excel with them. he's a solid PP QB who is above average defensively. that's not worth 800+ at this stage of the auction.

I just did a quick count in my head of defenseman that could be considered as good or better than Timonen and got to about 17. Needless to say I can't wait to see you justify listing 13 more.

There definitely aren't 20 clearly better defenseman than Timonen. He's probably somewhere in the 15-20 range.

i suppose where timonen excels is his durability, as i can think of several similar defensemen who would probably lose out to him on that alone. i am sure i can think of 20 defensemen better, and probably 9-10 guys who are about equal.
