I've watched a few games now on TNT/espn. idk they're no worse/better than the usual muckity mucks u see in these roles.

I honestly believe I could do what Big Nicky Z is doing right now for Calgary. I'm only 2 inches or so shorter, about the same weight, and I too am perfectly capable of throwing no-look backhand pizzas right up the middle from behind my own goal line.

But hey, we finally found a LHD partner who can break Smokin' Tanev. Sub-30% xGF for the pair thus far - granted, sample size of 2 GP but that's hard to do beside one of the best stay-at-home blueliners in the game ffs.

Something's not making sense out here. I think it's a lot messier behind the scenes than they're letting off.

Also...holy hell this avatar hasn't aged well at all

haven't seen any of it yet, but yeah wayne has always been a complete stiff on camera, and the idea that he could be hockey's answer to charles barkley seemed absoluelty laughable

i've only been half watching but yeah you'd have a tough time knowing these guys actually played the game before if you weren't familiar with the names

i'm hoping they can chill and loosen up a bit moving forward, you know these guys have so much untapped knowledge and insight but are just trying to mimic the traditional sportscaster but don't have the charisma and pace that those guys usually have so it's like a poor man's version of it

it's not the worst though, but my bar for hockey announcers has been laying on the floor since forever

No they don't. The Nhl is a completely different game. I would love to see them explain how to beat today's defensive strategies.
