I heard Bettmans quote on ESPN. Something like now that they have the NHL I hope they as good as job at promoting it as they did to destroy it when they did not have the contract is so true

Was sitting 8 rows behind Leafs bench. Only took this photo because I played with the guy in the middle for 4 years in the late 90s. Tried to get his attention pre-game. I went up to the glass there but he was too focused. He looked back when I called his name but I think when he saw my red jersey he paid little attention. Not sure he'd even recognize, although I look mostly the same since we last saw each other probably in the early aughts. Will see if I can find a way to contact him.
Game started. Habs were on fire. We easily could've been up 3-0. Leafs started to be competitive after about 10 mins.
Intermission grabbed a beer. The bathroom had 4 urinals and a stall. Stall person left first so I went in there to pee. Put my drink on the toilet paper dispenser. As I peed, the drink slid off and spilled all over the floor. Oops, there goes $20. Cared more about the lineup and time to get another beer.
At the front of the line saw someone that looked familiar but couldn't place him. It bugged me. Then saw his friend, who I realized was my friends brother in law. We chatted, and ya the other guy I couldn't place was one of his buddies who we played euchre with like 2 or 3 years ago. Sometime pre-covid. We had shots and a good time. I don't really know these guys at all. Oh ya, the brother in law also had a Subban jersey on (had no idea he was a Habs fan).
All my buddies in Toronto are die hard Leaf fans. They were complaining about Marner leaving practice early and questioning if he'd play. Before the game they said he was playing to which I said, awesome we need a 5 on 3. It was magical when that came true. Sadly the Habs couldn't convert.
We had lots of chances, but couldn't find the back of the net. Like last year, we gotta work on our PP. A win would've been amazing, but it was a great time to get back out in the real world again.
Oh ya, my wife was amazing too. She gave birth 2 weeks ago, so having the ability and fortitude to get out again was a lot of fun.

Yeah congrats housenuts! Can't wait for he\she to grow up a Leaf fan. 
Last night's result was as inevitable as last yr's playoffs but glad to you got to see it. Just tell us how easy Nylander moves out there?

Moving to Vancouver in a few months so that shouldn't be a problem. I'm OK with my kids being Canucks fans. If they were Leaf fans that would've been tough.
