Your AHL team is coached by SL who values grit the same way like MB and our prospects dont develop right. You had your potential number 1 center in AG but MT and MB never saw him as that. Now he is probably gonna be dealt. At least some of MB's latest remarks regarding Hudon seem to indicate that. Which probably also means Radulov is gone. Not sure who is leading our scoring department nor who is the defenseman carrying the puck.

So I am not sure how to feel about that contract. Ofc I want to see Price as a Hab but I would be interested to see how he sees the team that he takes a contract which makes him almost untradeable.

McDavid's contract is definitely not a bad deal.

I think now that the cap has been around for a while that it's a little surprising to me that more teams aren't trying to sign shorter term deals for the top guys. We've seen a lot of situations where teams are now starting to get burned due to salary cap issues with vets who either see a sharp decline or maybe get injured.

Mcdavid contract is fine. It's the same % of the cap as the $8.7 mil bajillion year contract Crosby signed in 07.

The Price contract is terrible since he is a terrible goalie and an even worse human being.

No kidding. I have no idea what they are thinking with Marleau. Feels like we are about to get Owen Nolan'd or Toskala'd again. We've been a Sharks dumping ground for years. Surely we could have got a beauty dman for that amount somehow. Hopefully a trade (JVR, Bozak etc) for a dman is in the works otherwise this makes 0 sense. We don't need 2nd line scoring or leadership ffs let alone for $6freakinM. 1st bad move in a while is the consolation, hope I'm wrong.

Thinking it through a bit more, not a huge fan of the Price deal. He's certainly in his prime right now and definitely worth 10M today but the contract takes him until he's 39. That contract could look ugly in 4-5 years.

Crosby's last contract was equal in terms to this one and they seemed to come out just fine. Need minimum wage role players that are just as effective and cost efficient and productive as Sheary, Rust and Kuhnhackl to balance it out. I don't understand why so many have this idea they ****ed themselves by signing him to this contract. Pens managed and still dealt with Malkin, Kessel and Letang and Fleurys contract as well. Kevin Lowes no longer in charge of this sinking boat.

2016-2017: lose in second round.

Off-season moves: downgrade Eberle to strome. Dump pouliot for nothing and take multi year cap penalty from buyout. Draft player who is years away. Lose a semi respectable d prospect to Vegas. Determine top four dman is out half the season or more. Re-sign a dman who is at best a pure defensive specialist.

Which of these moves made the team better this year? None. Which made the team worse? Most.

Kopitar gets the same hate in Kangz board. Hate Brown and Gaborik contracts and Richards non-buyout, not Kopitar.

I'm not sure if the cap is gonna go up too much in the next few years. I fully expect Vegas to fail financially, and there won't be any big TV deals until 2021 in the US and 2025(?) In Canada.
