Do I...

-Go and play and probably play terrible
-Go and watch/support
-Make a lame excuse

I'm leaning towards option #2 > #3 > #1 but #2 is probably really lame.
Be straight-up with the coach about your level of fitness and skill at the moment. If he still wants you to play, play. Otherwise, go anyway and support your team.

I suspect he's just trying to get individual players going for the playoffs...I'd be pretty surprised if he splits up the big 3 (DEAR GOD PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR SON JOE THORNTON BE HURT IN THE PLAYOFFS) once the postseason starts.
just a little side note here, but have the sharks lost since vlasic has been back in the line up? much more comfortable watching the games w/ a solid top 4 that doesn't involve huskins.

Back in time for another playoff collapse?

Seriously though...Vancouver nailed like 4 posts there...though I guess it's evened out by Thornton/Malhotra leaving w/ injuries.

Yeah, that's what I did. He understands and said I can come or not to support.

They lost his first game back but I agree, and when Demers comes back huskins will be out of the lineup entirely (please one time)

Tim Connolly was too injured to play tonight with a foot injury...

...didn't seem too injured while he was out at the bar tonight drinking with a average looking female companion. He seemed to walk away from the bar without a limp even.

FWIW I will never understand people buying "celebrities" drinks when they are out, the guy makes 3mil+ a year and you are gonna buy him a $3 beer. Do you really think he needs it, or worse think he is gonna come over and talk and hang out like you are BFFs. Leave the guy alone, he is not out and about to talk to you about your adoration for the Sabres or whatever drivel you want to spill on him at that point in time while you are drinking to make the pain of your ordinary lame existence passes by.

In checking out Atlanta's schedule for rest of season, I am fairly certain they have less than a 10% chance of getting into the playoffs....

Granted they play Carolina and Toronto, but their last 5 games are brutal. 2 vs Washington and Pittsburgh and 1 vs NJ. Washington may rest some guys, but their secondary scoring is better than Flames primary. Sabres castoffs will not lead you into the playoffs.

Based on point expectation vs opponents for Montreal, Boston, and Philly I would be shocked if they slipped in. Those 6 losses in a row in March really killed their chances.

playoff forecast over on h-r has atlanta at 23% to make the playoffs. 2 vs. washington really isn't so bad because of what you mentioned, washington has absolutely nothing to play for.

h-r also has the caps as 29% to win the stanley cup which is quite ridiculous to me imo

Wallin is looking like a pretty good pickup. Not a star, but >>> Huskins; put him in the third pair w/Demers and the Sharks look solid on the blueline.

so I'm hearing that the Winter Classic may be Caps-Pens at Heinz Field? So gay that those losers get to be in another one, and it has to be held in that dump of a city.

it would be the first time a winning team would be the home team there, though.

on the plus side, at least the lameass rangers wouldn't be getting one.
