72off: next season isn't a big deal either. it's 2011-12 that burke is looking ahead to, and if he can buy out that finger contract or make it disappear, he's got a pretty good team looking forward. if kaberle gets dealt today, he's looking a lot better.

Wow, Teddy Purcell and Florida's 3rd rounder is the return for Halpern, pretty good for Tampa I think.

Maybe I'll wait til later on to get into this as the Leafs talk tends to overwhelm everything else, and we don't really need that with the deadline going on.

Since the Rangers won't make the playoffs, I'd be on a freeroll since they can't lose a game, right?

lol, i was going to say i can't think of a more anonymous guy in the league with 600+ gp, pretty average 3rd liner, imo.

yeah my bad on Purcell, he seemed decent last year when i saw him play. maybe he does indeed suck.

i'm having a bad start here today, maybe it is time to actually get that coffee...

Triumph, when the Flyers waived all those guys and put Emery on IR, they cleared a bunch of cap space, right? I read where they had something like $2.8M to work with, but I though I heard some guy on TSN just say that they didn't have much room to work with.

Which is it?

Considering most of the guys I thought we were looking at made less than that, plus taking players off our roster would help things balance out. Seems to me like it's something.

I thought the biggest fail was having a 24-year old coming off an Olympic all-star performance drop to the seventh D-man.

Dunno enough about Laich and Simmonds (compared to the guys they'll be competing with for spots) to comment on them. Eberle on the team wouldn't surprise me, though.
