I like it. A nice upgrade and didn't cost too much. Now we have someone other than Martin to put the fear of god into the retreating Dmen. I did like what I was hearing about Froese but I'll trust Lou and Co on that one. Weirdly only 1 player has played more playoff games since 2012. Carl Hagelin has 97 Boyle 95.

This is my biggest fear too. He will probably do something super dumb and leave people wondering how he got his job in the first place. My main hope is that he doesn't trade Carlo. I think trading Spooner would be ok tough.

Literally every one of Backes, Belesky and Hayes I hated. Surprise surprise they are piloning. Those weren't even hard either, that **** was dead simple. Dude loves him some big bruising forwards that...are totally useless today. All the guys saving his bacon right now are his fastest most skilled players. Granted this also stinks of Neely.

Who else is pumped to pay Backes 6M until forever for like 15g per. Hooray! Oh but he's a leader.

in other news, former super-agent & GM Brian Lawton saying there's a bidding war for Shattenkirk going on between the Caps & Pens

everyone in the world saying that it's a pure rental, as Shattenkirk has his heart set on signing with the NYR this summer

Should be interesting to transition to Carlo/McAvoy/Lauzon. Again dunno how the dummy squad did it, but I'll take it. Combined with Colin Miller having some game and Krug being pretty useful, it's at least some sort of succession plan beyond the Chara years. Looked ridiculously bleak 12 months ago. Crazy how a team can go when those 2nd rounders hit. Some plus size kids in the bunch to help with mini Krug too.

Went to see a KHL-playoff game, 0-0 after 60minutes FML. 15min into the OT the Moscow team ended the Finnish teams season (series 0-4). Was not one of those "entertaining low-scoring games". Oh well, at least some trades going on across the pond.
