I've always been scared of commitment so I don't know what I'll do if there's Oilers playoff hockey in May.

something called Jason Megna just scored against the Stars, i can only imagine this is the breaking point, and they'll finally be trading for a new goalie immediately

local broadcast made a good point that Miller is a nice fit there, Ruff having coached him in Buffalo, and the Canucks are probably one of the few teams in the league that wouldn't totally mind taking Niemi/Lehtonen in return
(ofc Benning is gonna totally **** up the other part of the deal where you're supposed to get some good stuff in return for helping them out there)

Went to see Toronto Marlies vs Utica Comets today. Marlies won 4-1. Leipsic was the best player on the ice by far. He should be in the NHL. Marlies have a pretty good team again. Just a bunch of guys that could be 4th line NHLers (Colin Smith, Byron Froese, Brooks Laich, Milan Michalek, Colin Greening) makes it pretty tough for a lot of these AHL teams. Other than Leipsic, Andreas Johnsson was pretty good. Kasperi Kapanen was noticeable a few different times along with Kerby Rychel and Tobias Lindberg. Didn't dominate but they had some moments.

Didn't notice too many standouts on Utica's side but the game was pretty one-sided so it was tough to pick out good moments. Alex Biega played a pretty physical game and didn't seem outclassed but he finished -2 anyway. Jordan Subban didn't really have any strong moments. I didn't even notice Jake Virtanen was playing until the 2nd period. He had a cross crease one-timer saved that he really should have scored on. Didn't really threaten any chances outside of that one.

They had the Marlies play at the ACC today instead of their usual rink so they gave away a bunch of free tickets to try to fill it up a bit. Leafs are playing the Capitals there tonight too so after the game I'm walking out and Ovechkin walks into the ACC through one of the main gates and just into the crowd of people trying to leave. No one seemed to bother him too much from what I saw but just got a bunch of weird looks like "wtf why isn't Ovechkin using the player entrance instead of going the opposite way through the crowd."

Canucks win!

That Nathan Mackinnon does a good interview.

And this goal was sure sweet. Talented 21 yo!

You really have to watch to the end to appreciate the beauty of that goal mouth move.

Benning would definitely want to add some prospects and 1st rounds picks to get Antoine Roussel.

Now tied for the rookie scoring lead with Laine. Kid's hockey IQ is blowing my mind. The article below's pbp is a little dry but he has the right idea and the byline pretty much says it all. He was stone cold amazing all over the ice again last night.

There is magic in Mitch Marner, something enchanting and unlike everything else in hockey. So how does he do it?

picked up a couple more significant injuries (e.g. Edler), now this could really get fun

lineup for next game could be something like:

Quote:
Sedin - Sedin - Sutter
Burrows - Horvat - Megna
Eriksson - Granlund - Chaput
Labate - Gaunce - Skille

Hutton - Gudbranson
Sbisa - Stecher
Tryamkin - Biega
LOL

Canucks thought process:
"We were on the road, and so I don't think he had any of his stuff," Desjardins said Tuesday morning. "He needed to come back to get his stuff for us to kind of make a decision on where we're going to go at with him. When you're on the road you don't have anything.

lol wtf is that Brandon Prust in the background? I knew he was practicing with the team to stay in shape but this guy actually sits in the press box during games? Hang 'em up, pal.

My guess is there is about a 1% chance any NHL team will die in a plane crash in the next 50 years.

Or even less, about 0.2%, if you believe some statistics.

(30x50x55)/(19000*365)
(30x50x55)/(133000*365)
