Mike Evans is undeniably a talented wide receiver.
He brings a physical presence to the position.
But sometimes he's a little hot-headed.
The Buccaneers' excellent defensive tackle Gerald McCoy is out for this game with a biceps injury. That could leave the door open for Devonta Freeman to have a big game.
And let's not forget the Buccaneers' secondary is not highly rated, as Julio torched them for 12 catches and 253 yards last time at Mercedes-Benz Stadium
Thanks to an advantageous head-to-head tiebreaker situation in the NFC, the Falcons currently hold the 6 seed, and are in if they win any 2 of the last 3 (@ TB, @ NO, vs CAR). They also control their own destiny wrt the NFC South division crown. The Falcons are even mathematically alive for a 1st round bye, though that would require the Falcons to win out and the Vikings to lose out, which seems unlikely.
The Buccaneers are playing for head coach Dirk Koetter's job security, and have seemed less than enthusiastic about it in recent weeks. I liked Koetter when he was the Falcons OC, and I have mixed feelings about Buccs' DC and former HC Mike Smith, but they looked like buffoon caricatures of themselves on Hard Knocks this year. Their returns in the W/L columns haven't been overwhelming.
So the Falcons have a lot to play for, and hopefully will end this season on a roll like they did last season.
