NFL Wild Card Round: Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers

Last time these two teams met in the playoffs the Vikings went into Green Bay as an underdog and pulled off the upset. They went on to lose in another round which isn't surprising because the Vikings have never won a Super Bowl. Also, this happened:

Joe Buck called this a disgusting act and apologized to the viewers for having to see it. Luckily for the viewers Joe Buck is not announcing the game this week. That honor goes to these guys:

Green Bay and Minnesota went 1-1 against each other during the season, both winning at home. ADP ran for a million yards and Rodgers completed over 70% of his passes. No such thing as adjustments so expect more of the same.

6 Minnesota Vikings

Last time the Vikings made the playoffs was 2009 where they lost to the Saints in the NFC Championship Game. How could this have happened?

1. The Vikings have never won a Super Bowl

2. This guy was their quarterback

Good news is the Vikings learned from that mistake and decided it was easier to ignore the QB position completely.

The best thing Ponder has ever done is hand the ball off to Adrian Peterson, he's really good.

Other problems in the passing game (besides Christian Ponder being your QB) come from the loss of this guy:

Jared Allen is still on the team and will probably get multiple sacks because the Packers OL is muff. Don't let the mullet fool you.

The Vikings are coached by:

butnahhhh that would be too entertaining

That'll do.

Minnesota will go as far as Ponder takes them which doesn't bode well for a team that has never won a Super Bowl. Because they haven't. Ever.

3 Green Bay Packers

The Packers lost their first playoff game last year despite going 15-1 in the regular season. LOL

In fact, Aaron Rodgers has never won a home playoff game. How good can he be?

He does have more rangz than the entire Vikings franchise. But that is only because the Vikings have never won a Super Bowl.

Rodgers isn't the only one with hardware as Sam Shields will never forget

Could be hilariously awkward if he were to ever play for another team.

Heisman winner Charles Woodson is supposed to be back this week.

Despite his knack for committing a penalty on every single pass towards him, it will be nice for the Packers defense to have at least one player not afraid of Peterson.

Mike McCarthy will punt and kick field goals when he should be going for it.

Mason Crosby will miss those field goals

Game will be played at Lambeau Field

Saturday night on NBC which means....

Faith Hill has as many Super Bowls as the Vikings.

Prob more nervous than I should be for this game, -7.5 seems like a point too high to me, but in Godgers we trust.

Re: NFL Wild Card Round: Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers

perhaps a very ESPN-thing to say but i'm interested in seeing who comes out of the gates hot.

minnesota simply isn't built to come from behind so if the packers jump out to a 10-0 lead the game is essentially over. if the vikings are able to get out ahead then GB is forced to stop AP 30 times and we've seen how that goes.

minnesota also would've won the first time these teams met in lambeau if not for ponder's lolololness.

all that said, 34-20 packers.

I'm waiting for Riverman or ervinsm46o to make the Bengals/Texans thread. In case either of them is in here and sees this.

Yep for the Vikes it all about not getting in a hole early and winning the TO battle. Last game was looking like Gb was going to take over until that Rodgers fumble. I think the Vikes have only won like 1 game all year with a - TO differential.

Packers WRs all back, game is in Lambeau, Ponder likely not 100%, Godgers mad.

Sounds like a Packers smash to me, 35 - 21.

I agree, they should.

Quote:
Coming off a career-high 34 carries, and playing through some abdominal soreness, Peterson was also asked how his body is holding up, one year after reconstructive surgery on his left knee.

"My body feels great," he said, smiling. "I could play for 12 more games if I have to."
ADP is a ****ing tank.

I got Vikes in a close one.

All we need is for a Viking to mock the title belt and he'll be unstoppable.
