we are better both offensively and defensively compared to that 2010 team.

this is imo the best falcons team that i have seen, i like em much better than the 98 super bowl team.

As far as bottom teams go:

- Chiefs have to be the worst team in the league. Crennel is awful and they don't appear to be building in the right direction either.

- Jags offense is so bad now. Don't think they will be able to score enough to win more than a game or two.

- Browns are kind of underrated and have been all year, but Weeden is still at the helms and they don't deserve to be out of the bottom 5 with a one point win over another bad team.

- Titans/Colts/Chargers would round out the next 3.

It's time to give up on the Chargers as a team that can be competitive at all. Norv is literally the worst. Among all the poor decisions he's made this year, his handling of Mathews and the RB decision is massively lol. Mathews has lost a couple fumbles this year, but he's so so much better than his backups (Battle/Brown) that benching him for full quarters/games for them is hilariously dumb.

Broncos making a real charge. Demaryius looks like he's dramatically improved his routes, timing, and focus from the beginning of the year - if he's a legitimate high-usage #1 threat to complement their stable of white dudes, the Broncos are pretty scary offensively. Don't want to overinterpret playing vs. the Saints defense, though. Broncos defensive performance probably even more impressive that game, NO (despite their struggles) is still an excellent offensive team.

Falcons are good, and put up a very impressive performance, but "avg defense, non-top 5 QB" still caps their value imo. I think the Giants (who I'm definitely lower on than the rest of SE) are kind of a better Falcons in that they share a lot of the Falcons' strengths but have a top-5 QB and a theoretically better defense. In tiers, though, I think HOU/NE/SF/GB - DEN - ATL/NYG/PIT/CHI is pretty ironclad (order within tiers random), with a handful of teams on the fringe of that last tier and capable of joining with 1-2 strong performances (not least Dallas, whose performance in controlling the whole game against "1. Giants" has to be seen as reason for optimism despite the associated lolz.)

I think the broadcast mentioned it last night, but radio went into some more details.

Manning has spent a ton of time teaching DT a lot of things. Everything you think he's improved -- he has. They are so much more in sync and will continue to improve in that aspect.

I do agree with you, though, the defense is much more exciting after last night. NO was averaging like 29 ppg? They had 7 until that garbage time drive and didn't even have a bunch of flukey stuff happen. They just got shut down.

Hopefully Porter stays out the rest of the season. Or at least gets relegated to nickle back.

Can't we say his improvement is due to the gaping difference between Teboner and Manning? Manning has made all his top WRs look great.

I have long been a critic of the Broncos, but I think they are now the third team in the AFC who could be a playoff team in the NFC, after Houston and New England.

I don't see putting Denver below New England based on putting up a bunch of points against the Saints though, especially after New England's offense started the game going 5 for 5 on TD's.

Are Falcons only going to be called #1 if they beat the Giants in Week 15? From what everyone is saying, they're "beating mediocre/bad teams", and here's their upcoming schedule:

DAL
@NO
ARI
@TB
NO
@CAR

Edit: I don't think they're the best team in football, but I'm seeing some arguments that they shouldn't even be placed in Tier 1.

1. Among all WRs to be drafted in the 1st round and to have played at least 14 games their rookie year, who had the fewest receiving yards their rookie year with only 268?(hint: its within last 20 years)

2. Who are the 4 running backs currently active who hold their current team's all-time record for most rushing yards?

3. What is the most common final score in NFL history, having happened 239 times as of the start of this season?

4. Since 1985 which team has drafted the most QBs who went on to win a Super Bowl as a starter(does not necessarily have to be with original team that drafted them)?

5. What 3 teams currently have 3 players on their roster who have previously caught at least 80 passes in a season?

6. What 3 RBs have been in the top 10 for rushing yards in 2009, 2010, and 2011?

7. What 4 teams have a winning all-time record against every other team currently in their division?

8. Who is the only RB in NFL history to have over 10,000 rushing yards and have played with at least 5 different teams?(hint: he played within the last 20 years)

9. What player has 10 career receptions, all of which went for TDs?(hint: he played within the last 20 years)

10. What 6 QBs have had at least 9000 yards in a 2 year span?
Ooh fun.

1. Freddie Mitchell?
2. Arian foster, AP, SJax, CJ2k
3. 21-17?
4. Giants
5. New England, Tampa, Atlanta

Working on 6-10 now

the chargers have the easiest strength of schedule this year, and they are still losing. think that says a lot about them. i have them ranked slightly lower than i had them last week, and haven't dropped them lower because the teams ranked behind them are doing worse. they could be there very soon if they keep under performing.

my bottom 4 are the same teams as last week, and my top 4 are exactly the same as last week. broncos moved up my list, along with the bucs, and the vikings moved down. dolphins moved up a little as well.

most other teams are within a few spots of their previous rankings, or the same. most of my changes this week were between the 10-20 spots.

Probably, or unless other top teams start losing a ton of games.

With Atlanta, it's not the what, it's the how.

I would have no problem having them #1 if they beat the pants off of bad teams. The fact that they needed a gift from Mexican Chilly to eek out a home win over the worst team in the NFC, and they had a squeaker at home against the Raiders weighs heavily in my book.

Iggy

THE BETTING LINES DON'T MEAN **** FOR THE ****ING COWBOYS, YOU ARE RIDICULOUSLY WRONG AND A MISGUIDED TROLL

The Cowboys can win almost any game. But the fact of the matter is that they have extremely poor coaching and terrible peripherals that make their losses not fluky, but instead a byproduct of their really poor decision making.

"They almost beat the Giants and they had 6 turnovers", is just making it to where you are removing yourself entirely from the game. They lost that game to the Giants because they were inferior. They lost by five points at home because they were inferior. Its not fluky when you consistently throw the ball to the other team and carry the ball with zero security time and time again. The Dez fumble he more or less said "Here's the ball guys", and Felix Jones RAN INTO HIS OWN LINEMAN. The quarterback and receiver not being on the same page ever is not fluky. The receivers running the wrong routes is not fluky. That's just part of who they are. The turnovers are part of what defines the stupid team.

You are becoming an expert at "sort by betting lines", and you are just plain wrong on this one. Terribly wrong. The Cowboys are who we thought they were and while they probably will keep the game sort of close against the Falcons, they will ultimately not cover and lose the game by 13 points because that's Just. What. They. Do.

Chargers are awful. Organization is a joke. I've been saying it all year.

Problem is bottom is super bunched, just like the top. So I didn't have them bottom 5.

Then where will you have the Bears, who have beaten no one good and nearly lost to Mexican Chilly in hilarious fashion as well?

the falcons could go 16-0, and some people still wouldn't put them into their top 4 because "lol no top tier qb" or "lol average defense" or "lol 31st in strength of schedule". falcons won't go undefeated btw, i expect a loss to new orleans on the road, and will be happy with a 13-3 and first round bye.

we have to win playoff games before people will give us respect
