Lol waterwolves. I don't think anybody thinks baker doesn't look promising. You're acting like you're some prophet and nobody is listening to you, but one day you'll show us!

Maybe after he has a 4 game good sample...

Pretty sure most in this forum said Baker was their fave QB in the draft this year

What are people thoughts on how much sitting out this season (assuming he stayed healthy) has cost leveon bell? I'm saying $40 million ($15 mil this season and $25 mil on his next contract)

I was thinking the same thing. Ouch. I think he’s smart for sitting out at this point though. If your body isn’t ready for week 10 nfl you’re very likely to get hurt. Also it wouldn’t look good for his impending free agency to be the 2nd best RB on his team if he’s looking for a big payday. Raiders probably give him 70 million anyway

might even make him money, who knows maybe sitting out a year will add 2 to his career

someone will give him a ****load of money for sure

I think teams might look at how successful deangelo Williams and Conner have been in the same system and wonder if bell was somewhat a product of the system. Also, you know how nfl teams shy away from players that put themselves above the concept of team. See kaepernick, Eric reid, dez Bryant, etc

40MM is an absurd estimate.

How so? Do you still view Le’Veon bell as a clear cut top 2 back in the league? When some third round, 2nd year pro has put up better numbers than bell ever did through 10 games?

He will be 27 next year and has been first team all pro twice and second team once. Somebody will give him a big deal, could be a shorter term deal than he’d like potentially though

I’m not saying he won’t get a big deal, but it won’t come close to likely the record breaking or the deal AP got in his last contract with the Vikings type deal. I see him getting much closer to David Johnson contract

We will never know because we’ll never know whether he’s have stayed healthy and we’ll never be able to quantify the wear and tear on his body

I’m betting he’ll get 4/60/35 ish and will probably play 3 years on it and collect 45m

So he will have forgone 14.5 to guarantee himself 35 ish and most likely another 10 on top.

Even if he only collects the 35 he’ll see that as a huge victory rather than rolling the dice by playing out this year.

If he’d played this year, stayed healthy and played well then he’d likely have got the same type of contract on the open market but of course the additional 14.5. There’s probably a smaller chance that he’d have seen the final years of his deal with the wear and tear of this year’s 400 touches plus of course the real danger that a loss of form or nasty injury would have cut his earning power substantially.

So he’s limited his upside to get a larger guaranteed amount and it’s possible that the upside isn’t limited too much

he was offered 5 yr 70 million.. i dont think its absurd to think he only gets a 50million deal now, plus the 14.5 mil which he forfeited for a cost of 35 million..

i think it's likely someone dumb like the jets makes him rich, but him losing 30 million doesnt seem absurd.

i think he'll still get rich, but i dont think this could have played out worse for him.

Nfl salary cap is nearly $60 mil more this year than when AP signed his contract back in 2011.

if he stays reasonably healthy and puts up good enough numbers to sign another long term contract he wins for sure - Stealers would've have put 400+ touches on him and then killed him off in the last game of the season to make sure no one gets him

Bell had more scrimmage yards per game than Conner has in every season bar his rookie season and 2015 where he got injured in his sixth game

a larger percentage of salary cap doesn’t buy additional biscuits

Taking into inflation, $14 mil in 2011 buys a hell of a lot more biscuits than $13 mil in 2018

I'm old enough to remember when Josh Freeman was in the forum consensus top picks to build a franchise around.

bells only hope is one of the historically stupid teams to give him money. you can count on one hand all the RBs in the history of the league who are more than the product of their system.

jets or raiders seem like the favorites

Texans imo - it’ll be a team with a qb on a rookie deal

If Texans pay Clowney it may be difficult but they’re my best bet along with the Jets. Raiders maybe if they trade Carr and pick a rookie QB

Since people drafted him in fantasy football and are mad about it.
