Dumb betting question, I am on u5.5 wins for the Browns, does the tie count as half a win for betting purposes, and hence if they finish 5-10-1 does it end up as a push or a loss?

Ties count the same as losses for season long win totals.

All that matters is the win column.

Except that even then he can throw it on the right side of burton. Instead he threw it for not really a chance. Yeah it's not a great window but it's the NFL and he's in the red zone that's good enough.

QB's instincts aren't to run unless you're lamar jackson/RGIII so I'm not gonna blame him for not taking off.

Kevin King posted that would've been a INT, but I think he's full of ****.

I still think Darnoldo is overhyped, but I'll admit he had a pretty good game for a rookie.

And I expect the hype train to go into high gear after his next games against the Dolphins and Browns. All aboard!

the current MVP is Ryan Fitzpatrick, we can all calm down after one game.

White is definitely at least one very strong asset.

Not overly familiar with the Bills but here's the vets they are paying more than $5M to next season.

Star Lotulelei - Signed this past FA period: $11.5M uncuttable, probably not a great contract to have.
Jerry Hughes - Been an underrated player for years(?)
LeSean McCoy - IMO unlikely to be worth his salary this time next year. $2.6M dead if they cut him.
Charles Clay - Unlikely to be cut(?) 4.5M dead of his 9M cap hit.
Trent Murphy - 9 sacks in 2016, injured last year.
Micah Hyde - Had a great year last season. Probably a pretty good contract to have.

After that Josh Allen is their highest paid - obviously a huge wildcard. Tre'Davious White is one of the better young players/contracts ITL. Dion Dawkins, Zay Jones, Shaq Lawson and Tremaine Edmunds would be their other recent high picks(?) - could be missing a guy or two.

Might be way off - but the Jets seemed to be treating Darnold like a competent veteran QB. Didn't seem like he had the training wheels on. That in itself seems fairly promising.

Deion Jones to IR

This is really bad for the Falcons, he's the most important defensive player by far

...I can think of one or two reasons.

Tie is basically a loss for your sake. It counts as a tie. Nothing more.

They're counted as half a win and half a loss by the NFL, surely bookies would be the same?

You’re betting win totals though not wins plus half a tie totals.

I still like the Raiders side of that deal.
People say this because first-round draft picks only "hit" 50% of the time and even when they hit they are rarely as good as Khalil Mack

Let's also look at the actual trade-- 2019 1st and 6th, 2020 1st and 3rd, for Mack, 2020 2nd, and 2020 (conditional) 5th

So they really gave up a first and third and are moving down one round

He's a superstar at the game's second-most important position. He's a boat, and the picks are the mystery box.

I think a couple QBs will emerge (sources tell me Herbert is most likely) but it is a great year for DL, very deep

The kind of year a team with a need for pass rush would be really thrilled to have a first round pick in

If Mack trade was ass for Oakland what does that say about Belichicks return on Chandler Jones?

Jones lead the league in sacks last year and has a 3 year running sack total higher than anybody else ITL.

Also Pats were actually in a SB window. Raiders not so much.

Jones isn't as good as Mack and it wasn't as predictable he'd be as good as he's been for Arizona, but it seems pretty bad in hindsight. Jonathan Cooper never amounted to anything; the Patriots traded that pick to the Saints (who selected Vonn Bell, who is not as good as Chandler Jones); the Pats used the picks they got to select Joe Thuney and Malcolm Mitchell (who was released during training camp). So the Pats essentially traded Jones for a starting guard and a second-round pick, and ended up with... a starting guard. I don't think they'd do that again.

Looking at just the picks is wrong - they got 4 years of Thuney and 1 (good) year of Malcolm Mitchell for one cheap year of Chandler Jones. Then after that they used the money that would have been required to keep Jones to sign Stephon Gilmore and a few extra million leftover. I'm fine if people still come down on the idea that it was a bad trade for the Patriots, but Gilmore certainly factors in.

The cap space that the Raiders are saving here matters. Maybe they'll just go on to blow it or maybe the owner is so poor they can't guarantee any player a lot of money, but if in a year they've got the Bears picks, plus say Demarcus Lawrence or Earl Thomas and some other cheaper veterans, that changes things.

Allen isn't ready yet either. If only there is a NFL level QB out there that could start some games before the rookie QB was ready...

mcdermott has the weird thing of taking the bills to the playoffs and also seeming like he's a giant idiot, but maybe some idiot higher up is telling him what to do so idk what's going on.

They benched Tyrod Taylor for Nathan Peterman, then they traded Tyrod Taylor to start Nathan Peterman, then they shipped out AJ McCarron so they could start Nathan Peterman. After one game they're like um, here you go Josh Allen even though we thought Nathan Peterman was a better idea last week and btw your centers (both of them) are equivalent to nathan peterman--good luck out there kid!

3 bills OL were bears OL in the jay cutler era, woof. and marshall newhouse is there somewhere, lol.
