Like Tannehill is 30.
Drake has been alright, Gore is ancient. Do you have a good OL?
Wake is old.
Stills has been good but a Saints castoff. Parker has been hurt. Grant is a midget who is super fast but gotten some giant plays. Geisiki is probably a year or two away.
Kiko is old but had a good start. I'd assume Minkah is playing well.
Again nothing or no one jumps out at me like Mahomes or what some other teams have. So fill me in.
You're correct. Minkah is already playing at a pro bowl level. And speaking of pro bowls, Reshad Jones is a great strong safety who went to the pro bowl in 2015 & 2017, and would have gone in 2016 as well if he hadn't gotten hurt.
You mentioned Wake in your post, but actually Robert Quinn, whom the Dolphins picked up from the Rams, is Miami's best defensive lineman. And according to reports, he's playing at the same level as he was when he led the league in sacks a few years ago.
Miami's also got some good young tackles in Akeem Spence (acquired from Detroit), Jordan Phillips and Davon Godchaux. As a result, the Fins don't miss Suh or his $27 million salary.
But the best player on defense is probably Xavien Howard, who is arguably the best young shutdown corner in the league right now, with 7 INTs in his last 8 games. If you don't know his name yet, I guarantee you will by the end of the year.

You stated that Gesicki is probably a year or two away. That may or may not be true, but he's starting (and producing) now as a rookie. Miami also has two rookies starting at LB, Jerome Baker and Raekwon McMillian. (Well, technically, McMillian was drafted last year, but got hurt on the very first play of preseason and missed the entire year.) They may be a year or two away as well, but doesn't that sort of make my point? I was disagreeing with the notion that Miami had a dismal future outlook. The fact that they have several high draft choices starting already, and playing pretty damn well, seems to paint a bright future to me. (Or at least not a bleak one.)
Do the Dolphins have holes? Absolutely! They need another corner; the LBs will be exploited due to their youth and inexperience; they're thin along the OLine (and have already lost arguably their best interior lineman in Josh Sitton for the year); and, who knows when or if Tannehill will revert to the QB he was before Adam Gase arrived.
But there is enough young talent on the roster to give Fin fans hope that the future is anything but bleak.
