Being a ‘great offensive mind’ coach is a decent job though.

When CJ Beathard was stunning the place up, it was because he was ****. Now that Mullens looks good, it must all be Shanny

Same at the Rams - early seasons glory was all on the boy genius HC. Now that they’ve stalled, Goff sucks

There’s only so much a coach can do. Now if shanahan can find some better defensive coaches/players.

You can only do so much with crap qbs. He didn’t do much with hoyer too. You need a certain amount of skill especially on a team like the niners without any elite skill position players other than kittle. Pettis is looking good though but Goodwin and garçon have missed a ton of time. Breida isn’t bad but again he’s not an elite talent although he’s run really well this season.

if only they hadn't whiffed on their first 3 picks...all Defence ...in the 2017 draft

(I will say that Foster was/is a vg player and I loved the pick at the time) but Thomas is pretty much a bust at 3 and Witherspoon is awful. Factor in a 4rd pick RB who was cut after 1 season and it's only Kittle (and a late rd semi hit in Colbert) that prevents Lynch's first draft from being an unmitigated disaster

Nath you act as if that type of treatment of employees isn't pretty normal for most jobs. The superiors are always sure to flex their muscle and remind those peons they are worthless. Times that by ten when talking about billionaire owners who have been stuck with a gold spoon up their ass their entire life.

Gordon needs help. If he can't use the "legal" meds that are prescribed to him by his doctors to help with his anxiety, or addiction...whatever then he needs some serious counseling. If I get drug tested at my job and weed is one of the drugs they prohibit, ok. It sucks but for the 10 years he needs to make 100+ million then he can retire at ****ing 33 I don't feel bad for poor josh. The dude took off substantial time recently to "focus on his health " and obv it didn't work. Should the league allow weed ? Probably so. I personally don't even like weed anymore but I understand why people smoke, but millions of people have to sacrifice it to have their employment. It's a really ****ty situation, but I bet he can smoke all he wants in the off season.

Btw mullens is a ****ing winner. Not saying shanny doesn't make a difference but he's definitely got a future itl.

Cleveland still has a path to the playoffs. Need Balt/Tennessee/Colts to all lose this week, Miami not to win out and Colts-Titans to tie week 17.

I mean, I thought Goff was way overrated after last season; it's obvious how much surrounding talent is on that team, how easy McVay generally makes things for Goff, and how readily Goff can panic. The struggles have been real since Kupp has been injured. Maybe that's something McVay ought to able to account for; maybe Goff is a little more lost without his favorite target.

Mullens, at least, is playing well enough (certainly compared to how guys like Beathard and Hoyer did) to suggest there might be something legit there.

With out getting too creative the Browns could easily have 3 more wins and be comfortably in. First Pitt game, Raiders and Saints.

He did an interview detailing his struggles with substance abuse. It's not just weed. It's Alcohol, weed, coke, xanax, codeine etc.

He came from the worst possible environment. Yes he's freakishly talented and his career will likely be seen as a waste

That being said addiction is a very serious medical condition. Substance abuse is very often correlated to mental health issues. I feel sorry for him more than anything.

If anything this case should bring light to the fact that tons of people have issues they are not capable of dealing with, even when they have access to the best possible treatment.

It's a ****ty situation, but anyone who has the take, "all he had to do is not smoke weed, what an idiot" is well a ****ing idiot.

No one in the history of the world has thrown away millions of dollars because they couldn't quit smoking weed

Good post.

In addition to “all he had to do was stop smoking weed” idiot contingent I would suggest as a corollary that everyone saying “the NFL banned him ONLY because of weed use” are similarly idiotic.

So, pretty much everyone itt is an idiot.

Hogwash. They are littered with current and past players that have come from "the worst possible environment", including those that have gone into the hall of fame. It doesn't give you the green light to hit up drug addiction to address your issues and use your own mental health as an excuse for self destructing yourself. That is IDIOTIC.

The narrative that he isn't capable of dealing with his own issues, when in fact he is the ONLY ONE CAPABLE OF FIXING IT.

They were absolutely hosed in the raiders game. Like, that might be the worst call ever. Video evidence was clear and call on the field was first down. I am no conspiracy theorist but that may be the best explanation.

And tbf as for saints, they are rarely winning that. Even if xp is good, Brees has over 2 mins to get a fg.

Still imagine they win those games and Hue keeps his job? They would likely be in a much worse situation.

ya thats a bizarre post. first he says how bad addiction is, then he claims that everyone is able to quit substance abuse on command for millions of dollars.

so is rae carruth. just saw a headline about it. thats garbage imo. dude should absolutely never be allowed to walk free. he hired ppl to kill a women carrying his child and was even active in the murder by blocking her escape with his car while the shooters shot. she died. kid has brain damage.

htf does he not get life without parole? like, ppl that are the lookouts for robberies gone wrong get life.

and the article was some bs about how hard his life will be out of jail but how great it is that he learned the valuable skill of cutting hair so he will now contribute to society if he just gets a chance. seriously, eff that. really kinda makes me mad and I usually think we should be much more lenient with crimes.

Believe it or not I am an addict and habe been through constant struggles to get my life back together.

My point is that yes, he needs help. You all want it both ways, it's like weed is a harmless drug and **** the NFL for banning poor josh just let him smoke his weed to deal with his anxiety. Then when somebody says ok well it's so harmless then he should be able to put it down and find another alternative to deal with it. Then all of a sudden well he has serious problems and just needs help.

Well, he needs to get help! I'm all for that. **** I had to seek help, and came back a couple times even. No matter the "addiction " if it is interfering with your ability to even maintain your job then IT'S A PROBLEM. Nobody says he is entitled to play football, there's jobs that don't drug test. I wish the dude the best but he's not ready to handle the stress of being an NFL player I guess.

Trust me, I know better than to think "well just don't smoke, dumbass". Money doesn't mean everything.

And the level of care means nothing if you don't want it. It definitely makes it easier but addicts almost always have to hit rock bottom. He's not doing that jumping in getting gane checks for hundreds of grand

Yeah saints game wouldn't have been a guarantee but they were in a great position. Let's say they beat Pitt and lose to Saints that's still 8-6 if they weren't robbed in Raiders game.

but I think if they win those games early, then they end up keeping Hue until he inevitably loses a bunch more games. so they never go on this win streak if they win earlier.

they should have fired Hue before the season and that was plainly obv to anyone who even remotely followed the browns.

I dunno, if dude wants to get high, who cares?

now we got "former" addicts hoping he hits rock bottom. I dunno man. kinda think the dude is better of hanging with his weed friends that recovery ppl hoping his life falls apart.
