And weed is legal in MA so if its for smoking he’s getting the boot for something any schmuck can do legally in his state.

True, but in that regard he's the same as any working joe. A federal court already looked out for the poor employers. You can even be fired for using it if prescribed by your doctor.

Drug testing medical marijuana patients. A federal court in New Jersey ruled that an employer can drug test medical marijuana patients. Daniel Cotto Jr. sued his former employer for discrimination after he was fired for refusing to submit to a drug test. Cotto uses medical marijuana to treat pain from a former injury. A judge at the U.S. District Court in Camden wrote that the state’s anti-discrimination law “does not require an employer to accommodate an employee’s use of medical marijuana with a drug test waiver… [The employer] is within its rights to refuse to waive a drug test for federally-prohibited narcotics.” nj.com

Oxy and lortabs are still fine though.

If the NFL basically came out and said "Marijuana is completely legal in a bunch of states, so we're not going to test for it anymore" would anyone really be that pissed?

I'd bet a majority of rednecks under 60 smoke weed.

The biggest point is that weed isn't demonized like it used to be in the USA. NFL should take Adam Silver's (NBA commish) mentality with the "follow the science" approach. Silver seems open to the idea that marijuana use can help with mental issues just like a prescribed medication would.

The flag came from the back judge IIRC so there may have been some jersey tugging from behind. But it would have to have been so quick it doesn’t compare to what most refs are allowing DBs to get away with this season.

As to video caps, I’d rather see the one in the same game where Gates was so slow after the catch to head upfield it was like he was asking the DB for directions.

Right. It's just not a big deal anymore except to the rapidly dying off older Boomers.

I have the misfortune of having to listen to country music every Thursday morning at my gym. All songs from male singers by law must have a pickup truck, a pretty girl (in red dress or cutoffs), beer and/or whiskey, and guns. Female singers usually sing about a man who did them wrong, or how their mama taught them to do right, or both.

However a surprising number of the songs have allusions to doing all kinds of drugs - in a negative light. IE - get me out of this party-hellscape city life and back to simple life on a Tennessee mountaintop (with the straight-talkin preacher who will save your soul, but packs a gun). Or - yeah I used to be a mess, but now I just drink beer and play pool. "Smoke/Smokin'" also comes up a lot in context where it's obviously not a cigarette. Risque!

Anyway the point is I get the feeling drug use in your 20s isn't anything close to taboo in the redneck world.

The first one wasn't random, it was mandatory upon signing

What's the deal with Miami? They can't seem to use their talent very well. They got down on Ajayi, are getting rid of Parker, and for some reason are not using Drake much lately.

They suck and don’t develop talent very well. They’ve haven’t been that relevant in the Brady era.

Jay was the only qb in Miami since Marino that’s made the playoffs more than twice.

I actually think they’ve outperformed their roster this year.

Ajayi was an oft injured malcontent who they were never going to extend. Parker has only ever shown flashes

Their owner is a dumbass and keeps hiring bad executives, and their current GM seems to have no sense of roster building and just tries to make headline-grabbing moves every offseason

Miami’s roster seems absolutely loaded with talent and their qb/hc/gm are total aids and it has completrly ruined them.

I’m sure it’s a total coincidence they haven’t been in the playoffs in forever and they perpetually suck though.
